So I've decided to start posting about another programme that I've been working on for the last few months. On the same blockchain as Splinterlands, I've been playing the game RisingStar - where you start off as a lowly busker and work your way up to a global mega star!

I started playing this game back in May 2021 - just exploring it really. I was originally led to this game by a recommendation from @m3ss who posts here too and was one of the earliest authors I follow.
The things I was looking for in a blockchain game were minimal investment required, minimal time required, access via mobile and some sort of earning potential.
RisingStar hits all of those marks!
What is RisingStar
In RisingStar's own words:
"Start as a lowly busker and work your way up to a global mega star! Earn STARBITS by completing missions and trade or use them to purchase cards to progress your music career. Win prizes, earn REAL MONEY and listen to independent music."
It is a pretty simple game and doesn't require a huge time investment which is awesome.
Core Gameplay Loop (at least as far as I've gotten so far!)
- You do time based and level-locked missions.
- The missions get you experience and Starbits. Experience raises your level and will open up future quests. Starbits allow you to buy cards and improve your account over time.
- Missions take (as far as I know) five minutes to three hours to complete and give varying amounts of Starbits in return. As the missions can take some time you can log in, click and forget.
- Missions can also give you Ego as can "drunken fans" (also earnable via missions) and cards can give you "fans". Ego is a sort of limiting factor the game has built in. If your skill level (from cards & earnt via certain missions) is less than your Ego you get reduced rewards.
- With the Starbits you earn you can buy card packs or cards off the market to increase various aspects of your account as you go (or just to add to your collection!
Other gameplay items
As I understand it there are other things in game to do, staking on records to earn starbits, Building a Band, crafting, and music promotion all of which I haven't tried yet as I'm still building my account to that stage.
Earning potential
Earning potential - well I guess this depends on how the game develops and how many people get into it. It is still at a fairly early stage but here is what I know.
- Even at my early stage in the game I can easily earn over 1000 starbits a day.
- On Leodex, Starbits look to be trading at about 0.00043 hive for 1 starbit.
- 1000 Starbits would therefore be 0.43 hive.
- 1 hive would therefore be 2,325.58 Starbits
I have seen that more advanced players who have over One Million Starbits have a mission they can complete that gives 10,000 starbits a day. Long and short of it, you could definitely earn a few dollars a day with minimal work and who knows maybe Starbits will rise in value over time!
My view on the game
I'll keep this brief as I think my thoughts are pretty clear from what I've noted above. It's taken a few months but I've come to enjoy the game and the process of it. It's primarily an idle game whereby minimal effort is required so I like that. I also like the fact that no upfront investment is required - it can be a true Free to Play game which is awesome!
I'll go into more detail in later issues of the RisingStar Record on things like my progress, tips and and things I wish I'd known earlier!
And that's about it for this issue - a new thing for me to write about which is good especially since not a lot is going on in my quest for 100,000 BFG as it's all passive staking and farming at the moment!.
