DeFi protocols are taking over the crypto-world and Meta (MTA) price surged more than 2,400% just a few days after the official launch. According to CoinGecko, MTA skyroketed as high as $3.88 on Monday, representing a surge of 2,486% since its initial decentralized exchange offering.
The DeFi movement is designed to offer a digital alternative to traditional financial services by automating and removing middlemen from the process of borrowing and lending, derivatives trading and margin trading. De-Fi took the crypto-world by storm in 2020, when the ETH and BTC locked in DeFi reaching $3 billion, a new record.
What is Meta?
MTA is the native token of mStable, an Ethereum-based protocol that targets stable-coin investors and offers insurance and coordinated decentralized governance. The Meta main role is to allow people to swap their cryptocurrencies assets with low slippage or earn interest through lending.
The Meta token aims to coordinate decentralized governance by incentivising stakeholders to act in the best interests of mStable, while MTA holders will get incentives by participating in decentralizing the governance of the DeFi protocol.
Meta will act as the ultimate source of re-collateralisation and insurance for Token holders, will coordinate decentralised governance and will incentivise the bootstrapping of mStable asset liquidity, utility and a community of Governors.
Meta (MTA) current price per unit is $2.46 and can't say is this bubble will burst soon or the price will keep growing. It is a high chance that the surge to be driven by momentum until big players will sell their share at high price, and than the value will fall dramatically.
