One of my least favorite rules is highlighted this week for the Share Your Battle Challenge which now also is called 'Battle Mage Secrets" in . This time, it's the Noxious Fumes Rule.
one of the reasons I'm not that crazy about this rule is because there is 1 really expensive summoner that totally dominates it which is the Scarred Llame Mage. Basically if you are up against someone who owns this card, you instantly lose the match. Otherwise, you really need to have some cards either with the Immunity ability or as an alternative Self-heal in order to have a chance since the poison each round really cuts into it. I usually play the Death Splinter as it has 2 ok cards with Immunity in the Harklaw & the Revealer which aside from that ability with this ruleset aren't that good.
With high mana available, I opted for my often-used Water Splinter with the Possibilis Summoner which gives monsters +2 health which helps with this ruleset even though it's not perfect. The Kraken is always my main Tank with high health. I followed this up with a 2nd tank with the Seamonster which has self-heal. The Baakjira was another cards put in place to survive and the fact that it gives other cards +1 health certainly helps. Opportunity monsters are always extra strong with this summoner and the combination of DeeplurkerIsgald Vorst as 1 Gladius card was allowed to be used. This win mainly came because of my opponent simply had lower-level cards standing no real chance. Being up against some monsters with the Immunity at higher level might have gotten me in trouble in this match for sure
