Hey everybody, just starting a conversation here, would love to get some insight...
I don't want to sound like a decentralization maxi (though that's the only type of maximalism I can stomach tbh) but am I the only one getting physically sick because of the hypocrisy we see in this space on a daily basis?
Every time I read of a Web3-related project (a game, a PFP collection, anything people shill these days) being promoted on Discord or somewhere else, it's always the same rhetoric: WAGMI to Web3we'll all be free from big companies owning our digital liveslet's build this thing together! Don't get me wrong I love that, but then you read on and what are the suggested ways we build this thing? Re-tweet, share on Web2 social media and basically make Web2 companies even fatter by developing the discourse around Web3? HOW STUPID IS THAT?
Would anybody champion the cause of a WEB2 UNPLUGin which we renounce Facebook, Twitter, Instagram TikTok, Spotify and all the other platforms that enslave us? I firmly believe people with large followings would laugh at the ideaof losing years of hard work to champion the cause of decentralization? Laughable. Well, until we find the drive to bring down the Status Quo, I'm afraid Web3 is and will always be just that: empty words
I'll be waiting for the Crypto Twittoors to start putting their money where their mouth is.
