The dumb mistake we keep making that keeps us poor

There's an exchange I use that I doubt you'll know.

And you're not missing out on much. The limits are too strict, either too low or too high, and fees are too high, the number of cryptos limited, there's no staking, no earning, no debit card, and ultimately no real reason to use this rather than other CEXs.

I only use it because it's connected to a pay-for-walking app. For about two years, I made a decent amount of coins, converted them to Algorand and held it on an Algo wallet.

But the platform's UX has changed several times in the last four-five months and each time, it's a little bit worse than before.

First, they removed staking and earning services. Then they upped the minimum withdrawal limit, which means you can't withdraw funds from the pay-for-walking twin app. Then they removed 90 percent of rewards from the pay-for-walking app.

It's a totally useless app now.

And it goes further.

All rewards were paid in YNG, the exchange's native token.

For the longest time, the value was artificially fixed at €0.24 (circa $0.25) and things were okay.

Then they made it tradable, and they said it would be available on other exchanges.

The value briefly shot up to $0.29 but it then started dipping, and it hasn't stopped dipping since.

Further, I have a feeling someone is somehow artificially keeping it in the region of $0.14 because this token is still worthless outside the app. It is no listed anywhere else.

And yet. And yet.

I'm an active member on the exchange's unofficial page on Facebook and it's baffling how many people still believe in this failed project.

I'm not blaming them for still using the app, I do too. But I always liquidated any amount of YNG immediately and wouldn't dream of holding a cent in that token.

But people still believe in it? Why? Because they're Italians. And this exchange is the only exchange of relevance that was founded in Italy.

See where I'm going with this? They're getting emotionally attached to this. And that is the worst idea ever when it comes to investing.

If it works, sell and take profits. If it doesn't, sell and cut losses.
