The Cardano Foundation is proud to announce the launch of the Cardano Developer Portal. It is a unique library of over fifty articles on release, reviewed by developers in the community.
"After months of writing, polishing and testing, we are confident that the portal now has a very solid foundation, covering everything that is currently possible on the Cardano core network. Whether you want to implement transaction metadata, mint native tokens, integrate Cardano, operate a stake pool or get your project funded: there is something for almost everyone. All this, just before the hard fork of Alonzo that will bring smart contract capabilities. So yes, I'm very excited," says Tommy Kammerer, head of the developer community.
To celebrate the launch, the Cardano Foundation has minted the world's first NFTAs: ten non-fungible Appreciation Tokens minted on the Cardano blockchain.
"Both the scope of the topics covered in the Portal and the way we are promoting them with these NFTAs show the incredible possibilities Cardano offers. It's something that many people have yet to get used to. With the help of our community, they will," says Sidney Vollmer, Head of Brand and Communications at the Cardano Foundation.
Each of the NFTAs is based on a thumbs-up photo of a Cardano community member endorsing the Portal. They are used as campaign visuals to promote the portal, although ownership of these campaign assets remains with the community members. Scanning the QR code on these NFTAs takes you to the Cardano blockchain browser, where you can verify ownership of the NFTA. What further differentiates these NFTAs is that each NFTA is accompanied by a token that represents a unique, non-transferable opportunity for the recipient of that NFTA to highlight a topic or project of their choice on the Cardano developer portal.
While the developer portal is a great repository of all that is currently possible on the mainnet, we recognize that it is also a foundation on which to build further. As such, we look forward to constructive criticism, possible improvements and, above all, solid contributions from Cardano developers, stake pool operators, ambassadors and newbies around the world.
