As a crypto hodler, you want to earn passive income, and you are constantly checking the multiple DeFi protocols on the numerous blockchains to get the best yields. You always oscillate between farming stablecoins, playing only with the big players BTC and ETH, or investing into riskier assets.
Let's have a look at 3 DeFi strategies which are really worth it:
- Avalanche / Curve: the very secure atricrypto pool (1/3 stablecoins, 1/3 BTC, 1/3 ETH) allows to earn 20% APR, half of which being AVAX, which can then be staked through Beefy Finance to earn 25% APY. You may also bet 100% on AVAX, but it is riskier, since it is an inflationary token.
- Optimism / Synthetix: one of my favorites. Optimism is a layer-2 chain on Ethereum. Much faster and lower fees than Ethereum mainnet, but with the security of Ethereum. Furthermore, they have not dropped their token yet... You can earn 43% APR by farming ETH-SNX on Synthetix.
- Polygon / Sandbox: the trendy Sandbox allows you to earn 60% APR on the liquidity pair MATIC-SAND. To get these rewards, you have to farm directly into the Sandbox. Farming through Quickswap or Beefy Finance delivers lower yields. SAND is also a good bet in the Metaverse world.
As you can see, these farming strategies allow to earn from 20% (on Curve) up to 60% (on the Sandbox). As usual, the riskier the strategy, the higher the rewards. Therefore, the key is to find the good balance between low yield secure vaults and higher yield less secure ones.

- Additionally to the risks linked to the volatility of the coins, some protocols are risky by themselves since they can be exploited or in the worst case, can be scams or rug pulls. Using Defillama to check audits and RugDoc to check rating can help you secure your DeFi strategy.
