The Merge is upon us. I just got into the crypto game last year but it seems that some of you have been waiting for this moment for ages. The fact that this year has been plagued with a contagion crisis also surely adds suspense and excitement to the Merge. It’s like everyone is dying for something good to finally happen.
Crypto exchanges and firms are jumping on the bandwagon. Users are understandably anxious about whether they will need to do anything to their ETH (You don’t!) and these companies sense the need to reassure their clients, for what is an enterprise without its customers? These two weeks, I have been delightfully deluged with a barrage of updates on the Merge. Each announcement is as different from the others as day and night. So I thought you guys would find some pleasure reading them too.
Most Enterprising Announcement
Cake DeFi (Referral Code: 298646) reveals its strategic mind by capitalising the Merge to launch its new products and services and attract new customers. Otherwise why delay the Ethereum learn and earn course until now? I won’t be doing anything special as a result of its announcement, but it tickled me pink that it was adopting a business-minded and pragmatic view towards things. The Merge almost became a by-product in its announcement, which I wholly endorse because any news should go towards expanding a company’s bottomline.
Most Localised Announcement
Independent Reserve was founded in Australia but decided to set up shop in Singapore. I guess the fact that it’s a foreign firm made it more sensitive to the needs of Singaporean customers? Call it a cheap thrill but the fact that it stated the timing of the Merge in the Singaporean time zone earned brownie points for yours truly. I mean, if I were determined enough, I could have worked out the timing myself. But it’s just so nice that Independent Reserve knew the first thing Singaporean customers would be interested in and addressed this need without making a hoo-ha of it.
Most Eye-catching Announcement
A picture speaks a thousand words. Just look at this simple and elegant image from Gemini. This was actually the first time I saw it represented so succinctly in a pictorial form. As a teacher, I applaud this approach because it is going to appeal to a lot of the visual learners out there. What’s more, it was informative in the sense that the readers would correctly interpret that the Beacon would be integrated into the Mainnet.
My Favourite Announcement
Yes, I’m not gonna act coy and give each announcement a token Most something something award. Because if we were to employ data analytics, surely some announcements would be ranked more favourably than others. So my favourite announcement was the one from FTX. I guess it shouldn’t come across as a surprise that I love words. So to have this glorious flood of words was stimulating for me, especially when the update was so comprehensive and thorough. I not only learnt about the possibility of a ETH POW fork, but also about FTX’s unique selling proposition. So I thought FTX treaded the fine line between being informative and “pushing” its services really well.
