SuperUMAns #70 - Umfluencers Season Two

The UMfluencers Program started in September, with a vision that wanted to enhance the UMA ecosystem and the general blockchain awareness. The aim was to create a group that was able share their knowledge about UMA tools and products, amplify UMA posts, and maintain UMA’s topics trending on Twitter.

UMA posts and general discussions regarding UMA tools required a “human touch”, as the engagement was generally between top names in the Cryptoverse. This could be intimidating for the common user, and the UMfluencers are the ones that could fill the gap. The UMfluencer is defined as a crypto savvy person, with a good reputation in the social media space. You are invited to become one of them, as Season Two kicked off at the start of 2024. 

Before we dive into UMfluencers Season Two, lets conclude properly the trial season. Let's analyze the impact of the program, as 88 threads seen the light on X. The peak participation was in November, when 21 participants published 29 threads. 

The standard monthly budged for the first season was 250 $UMA, which makes it 1000 tokens shared last year. The year concluded with Christmas gifts for all the participants, all getting some tokens for the effort. Heruvim was the UMfluencer of the Month for December, receiving the top prize. He was closely followed by Christina, Infinity, Byron and TengoLoTodo. 

How to start?

  • Claim the UMfluencer role in the UMA Discord
  • Write threads following the monthly topics
  • Share the threads in the dedicated channel
  • Add the number of impressions at the end of the month

There will be a shift in targets for 2024, and the aim will be on both quality and quantity. Each UMfluencer will share their content to their own pool of followers, and slowly build a network with the other UMfluencers. 

The point system will evaluate content, while resisting attacks and attempts to game the system. We are an optimistic community, and we see the best in people! However, any attempt that goes against the fair-play of the campaign will lead to disqualification.

Top 15 emoji votes & impressions: 

1st place = 6 points 

2nd place = 5 points

3rd -6th = 4 points

7th-10th = 3 points

11th-12th = 2 points 

13th-15th = 1 point

We aim for both quality and quality, and this is why all entries that score more than 1000 impressions on Twitter will receive one extra point. What Does Success Look Like?  Success can be measured by: number of participants, number of threads and the quality of their content. The success of the UMfluencer Season Two campaign will be reflected through the active participation of the umfluencers and a constant flow of content. 

Targets and Goals! The target and goals of the campaign are focusing on three main aspects: quantity, quality and growth. The quantity will be measured through the number of participants and number of tweets/threads shared in a month. The average number of participants for season one (Sept-Dec) was 15 UMfluencers, sharing an average of 22 threads per month.

The goal for Season Two is to record a perpetual growth each month, reaching an average of 20 UMfluencers per month. The target for monthly content is at least 30 threads.

The quality standard for threads was created after analyzing the top threads from Q4 of 2023. The best ranked threads had memes or art, links to official UMA content and at least 6 tweets. The target for Season Two is to encourage the UMfluencers to improve the quality of their threads according to the set standards.

How will the thread's quality be assessed? A good thread will be considered one that has above 5 points obtained during internal audits. The idea is to assign quality points based on the the content shared on X as it follows:

  • Image added in thread (1p)
  • Link to official UMA website, video or article (1p)
  • More than five tweets in the thread (1p)
  • Original meme or image (1p)
  • More than 10 tweets in the thread (1p)
  • Quoting official UMA/UMA team tweet (1p)
  • Original ideas or feedback provided (1p)

growth aspect is focusing on the growth of the UMfluencers as social media crypto savvy users. They will be supported by the UMA team, UMA Ambassadors and their colleagues to become better, and to reach a wider audience. It will be recommended for them to follow each other, comment and amplify the content of other UMfluencers, and create a network of people that will support UMA’s social media presence.
