As you all may have recently seen, the summer of Snorf is here. With all the work going into the new NFTs, website, and more, there hasn't been much time to look into a new game or project for a deeper article. However, I would like to keep the Snorfkingdom updated, so I will be trying to give you at least a weekly update on interesting happenings in the blockchain universe, as well as dropping a few hints and teasers here and there about the upcoming Snorfkingdom website, NFTs, and community launch. So, let's dive in, as you may be wondering what has been going on recently in the blockchain universe?
Splinterlands introduces new SPS governance token and DAO plans
The Splinterlands team has been hard at work, from the recent DYGYCON 3 event, releasing new cards for ultrarare collab card holders, and more. Most significantly, however, is the planned DAO governance update, which will see users being able to obtain "SPS" tokens, which are a governance tokens that, according to the new whitepaper, will "provide increasing levels of decision-making ability and control over the product to the player-base, asset owners, and other stakeholders." Chris Roberts from the team recently published an article explaining how you can maximize your SPS airdrop rewards, so be sure to check it out!

Upland launches Chicago properties and property development
Upland, whilst known for its beloved llama figurehead, is also seeing rapid growth, and with that comes many new regions and property expansions. The team recently launched the Chicago property area, a new premium property region which will likely see higher prices, so this may be an area to avoid if you are just getting into the Upland Universe. In addition, a small group of users were selected for an initial trial of the property development feature which has been much awaited by the upland community. With this addition, users will soon be able to build unique developments on their properties with Spark, a new EOS token which will be staked, lent, and more.
RPlanet head for a crossover with The Uplift
R-Planet seems to be a popular choice for many in the blockchain gaming world, especially due to its easy to use, idle-gaming approach to the earning of Aether, its in-game token. The team has taken the game to the next level by introducing lands, and, more importantly, showing that NFT holders may be able to be rewarded twice over for their efforts. As of a few days ago, users who own a land in the R-Planet "swineland" region are able to upgrade their land for 5 million aether, and in turn this upgraded NFT land will also grant them ownership of a land plot in The Uplift. Interesting Projects to keep an eye on
Alongside the many interesting updates which have been happening, there are many blockchain projects and games out there which I would recommend you to keep an eye on. Here are some of them:
- Farsite: An upcoming ETH2 blockchain game. There is a lot of hype around this game, somewhat arguably due to their proactive referral strategy approach. However, this game seems credible as it is being developed by the supernovae team, so keep an eye out on relevant updates!
- Chainmonsters: This game is still in very early days, but seems like a very interesting blockchain-based project so check it out and see what is happening in their discord.
- Hodlgod: One of (if not) the first battle-royale style blockchain games, Hodlgod continues to improve and grow. This is a fun game so be sure to check out this project and stay up to date with its developments
- Dark Country: This trading card game recently launched its genesis land sale, and also collaborated with the aforementioned Hodlgod on some really great NFTs. Another project to watch!
- Axie Infinity: This is one of the coolest blockchain games out there. Despite its high entry cost, I would recommend staying up to date with what is coming from the Sky Mavis team behind this game.
