This is a real story that happened to me two year back
Those were the days when 4k gaming/movies was becoming real thing and also i wanted one. So I ordered a new Samsung 4k TV from BeastBuy and they gave me a delivery date. Unfortunately, I had an important call from work and there was no at my house to take it. I thought that the delivery guy will come and will leave a note that I missed it. But nooooooooo (suspense sound in ur mind)
I got an email from BeastBuy that my TV was delivered. I was shock quickly ran home (yep! TV more important than work) and there was NO TV. I immediately called BeastBuy and told them the same. They said they check and get back and after an entire day, I got a call from best buy telling me that someone from my house took the TV (I live alone) and signed. The signature said someone by name "suko" took it.
I told them nope! and their response was the TV is stolen and I need to raise police complaint and will not be returning my money. That scared the hell out of me (I am an immigrant in Canada) and I did not want to deal with cops.
All hopes lost! then i remember i bought the TV using my PayPal account. I contacted PayPal, they told me they will contact the seller and suggested me not to talk to BeastBuy any more. After 7 days, I got my money back. Yeah that simple
Out of curiosity, I asked them what happened in these 7days. PayPal team told me they asked BeastBuy to provide proof that the TV was delivered. BeastBuy show signature by "Mr Suko" which is not my name, PayPal gave them 7 more days to provide other proof like photo, BeastBuy did not have any. PayPal did not process the payment and I got refunded
Not get me wrong I love BeastBuy but never trusting their online
