Splinterlands Weekly Challenge BATTLE MAGE SECRETS! AIMLESS

Do repost and rate:

Every week there is a SPLINTERLANDS challenge to share a battle using a specific card and on this week's post it is a battle with the Aimless rule set. I also encourage  players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is lost magic. This means that all monsters will have scattershot and no magic monsters can be used. There is also 40 mana available and I am left with the choice of any

The summoner I choose to use this time is Drake of Arnak. In a match like this, having +1 armor is always good because it can negate the damage from one attack and I can use cards to it's highest level.

My plan is just to have a lineup using a tanky monster up front followed up by a reach monster. Then I'll have demented shark for +1 melee and sneak monsters to hit the backmost monster. I don't have any monster suffering from the scattershot.

At the first glance of my opponent's lineup, I think this match can go either way. I do think that I do have the advantage because there are 3 monsters on my opponent's side that will attack monsters randomly. As long as my luck isn't bad, I shouldn't have any issues. On my end, I have all my monsters targeting the front or back of my opponent's lineup. The taunt monster doesn't seem to really change anything because it still counts as the sneak target.

I was able to take out the taunt monster and I didn't lose any monsters. It's possible for me to still lose but I think everything should be fine because I have a lot of attackers left.

I was lucky and my opponent missed a lot of his attacks while I did not miss any on my end. This allowed me to take out most of my opponent's side and I didn't lose a single card either. This match is pretty much my win because I have all 6 monsters left.

As I expected, I won the match without missing with my enraged Diemonshark.

The battle this time around went exactly as I expected. All of my cards focused on either the frontmost card or the backmost card. Even the taunt did not change anything and I didn't have to worry about all the scattershot at all. With this, I was able to focus and take out my opponent's card. While I am losing out on speed, my lineup is still quite strong and all of that attack was too much for my opponent to survive.

The +1 armor from my summoner was great and it was able to let my cards live longer. As for my opponent, his lineup isn't that bad but half of his lineup had to rely on scattershot and the damage goes randomly to a card on my side. So it hurt him because he couldn't focus his attacks. His taunt monster in the backmost spot didn't change the focus of any of my attacks either.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
