Splinterlands, a crypto collectibles game that describes itself as a mashup of Pokemon cards and World of Warcraft characters, is now integrated with the Ethereum (ETH) network, allowing the game’s NFT cards to be traded on OpenSea.
According to the recent announcement by OPENSEA CEO Devin Finzer, Splinterlands cards can now be transferred to ERC-721 tokens on the Ethereum blockchain, where they can be listed directly on OpenSea or another secondary market. This is a major expansion for the Splinterlands, which is currently the largest Steem blockchain-based game with more than 3,000 daily active users.
“The existing Steem-based marketplace for the cards has an average volume of over 5,000 cards sold for over $3,000 every day, and has done well over $1M of total transaction volume over the past year,” added Finzer.
To celebrate the launch on OpenSea, Splinterlands is conducting a series of exclusive card auctions, starting with a Legendary Gold Selenia Sky. The card is valued at $2,400 and the auction currently sits at 1.2 ETH (~$200).
This news comes several weeks after SPLINTERLANDS partnered with World Asset eXchange (WAX) to integrate WAX into the game.
