Splinterlands Battle Mage Secrets: Target Practice!

Do repost and rate:

This week's Battle Mage rule set challenge was one my all time legacy faves: Target Practice in which every ranged monster gains the Snipe ability

Target Practice (Snipe) general strategy....

If you're attacking using this ruleset it's good to have three monsters on snipe duty: I like to focus my attacks as you take down individual monsters more quickly.

Blast is extremely useful, so this is one for Yodin or ranged monsters with blast. Piercing is also useful as you can reasonably expect shields for defence.

Defensively you could ignore the ruleset and focus on targetting the front monster or even sneak and focus on shields, repair and triage is also useful too!

One summoner here excels: Yodin!

Target Practice battle exemplar

battle below shows a battle featuring the Dragon Splinter in a decent Victory!

Mana and rulesets:

  • Mana = 34
  • Rulesets = target practice and blast!

Summoner - Lily Shieldpaw - triage for the blast, camo and strengthen

  1. Flesh Golem - a great EARTH tank
  2. Scavo Hireling - for repair (Queen Protects)
  3. Sporcerer - awesome damage card
  4. Goblin Pyschic - good damage and heal
  5. Queen Myclia - Protect
  6. Spirit Hoarder - more triage.

The battle...

  • round 1 - I lose my Scavo to blast, but then again, he's no real use with all this magic damage anyways!
  • round 2 - triage kicks in and heals up my higher health sorcerer from all that blast, NICE! AND OOF - I take out my opponent's Slipswan, Pelaton, Goblin and Princess!
  • By round 4 it's all over!

Final battle analysis

I went defensive against the ruleset here - with Protect and repair and lots of triage, but we both ignored the ruleset!

My triage was crucial in keeping the Sporcerer alive in Round 2 and then it was a case of careful what you wish for from my opponent - taunt with blast didn't work so well!

It took a couple rounds at the end to take out that Unicorn, but with double heal on the flesh golem, he wasn't going down!

Snipe final thoughts...

Play blast, or just ignore it and defend against it!

If I have one piece of advice - don't use Melee attacks!
