I hope all of you are enjoying this beautiful day with your loved ones and if you are a SPLINTERLANDS player like me, I guess you are busy scoring those lucrative reward chests while playing on a daily basis. As we speak, this ongoing ranked season has travelled half the road already and only 6 days left for it to meet its end, so be sure to fill your season meter with as many reward chests as possible before time runs out as I am doing the same. Looking at my own progress in this current ranked season, so far I have been able to collect only 30 season chests and to boost my count, I am thinking to rent some SPS which will boost both my ranked SPS earning and Reward Points in order to increase both my daily focus and season end reward chest count.

Conflict Progress

On the other hand, I am also saving money again to buy some more rebellion cards as without them, staying competitive in the modern format is so hard now and costing me to lose more matches nowadays. Not only that, having rebellion cards will also help me to increase my chances of getting airdrop cards, as with the new Conflict airdrop mechanism now we have to stake Rebellion cards or packs to get chances of getting the airdrop cards. Till now, I have only collected 205 chances so far, so I will only get 1 guaranteed chance of getting an airdrop card, so right now I am trying to increase that number and also to increase my contribution point generation rate for the future ones.

New Tournament Proposal

On another note, team splinterlands has come out with a set of proposals today regarding the change in tournament format Today and since there is no option to create a multiple choice proposal, hence they have come up with a total of 5 linked proposals and be sure to vote and un-vote them according to your choice using your staked SPS. Personally, I liked the option C the most and voted for it already and with a current 66% votes, seems like most people are also going for this option as well. If you also play this game as a dedicated player and participate in tournaments, then this proposal is very important for you and I will request you to go and read all the 5 different choices and cast your votes according to your thought.

Battle Chapter

Now, allow me to redirect you towards main theme of this post because today, I will be talking about the most shouted and the costliest card in the whole rebellion set, GRIMBARDUN SMITH. It is one of the 2 promo cards that got airdropped to the packs buyers who purchased enough packs during the pre-sale event and this is one of the main cause of its high price. So without further delay, let us jump right unto it.

GRIMBARDUN SMITH

SMITH is a tank card that doesn't possess any attack power but the combo of its ability set is so powerful that even the strongest lineups get scared to face him on the battlefield. This monster belongs to the Neutral element, so you can easily use it with any possible element if the match ruleset allows in a particular match and craft powerful lineups to beat down your opponent easily. It is a rare type of card that requires a total of 115 BCX cards to get upgraded to the maximum level. This card costs only 6 mana to be used in battles so you can easily insert this beast when playing medium to high mana limit matches. Now, let us take a deeper look into its league wise stats and abilities below.

Stats and Abilities

At level 2, it holds no attack power at 1 speed, 1 armour with 9 health and also possesses the Immunity ability that it gets from its initial level.

When at level 4, this monster has an increased stat of 1 speed with 1 armour and 10 health and it also has another ability Void that it gets from level 3.

When you upgrade this monster to level 6, it gets an increased stats of 1 speed with 2 armour and 10 health and it also gets another new ability Shield which it gets from level 5 onwards.

Diamond / Champion

When this card finally gets upgraded to level 8, it possesses 1 speed with 3 armour and 10 health and also gets a new ability Repair at its max level.

Match Stats and Lineups

When I looked at the ranked match ruleset, I found out that it was a lower-ish medium 21 mana limit match with 3 active elements - Water, Earth and Dragon and it also had 3 match rules - Equal Opportunity (all the minster will get Opportunity ability), Rise of the Commons (Only common and rare type cards can be used) and Equaliser ( the initial health of all monster will be same and equal to the monster with highest health in a match).

In this match, I wanted to test out my Smith’s true power so I created a lineup using the Dragon summoner Lilly Shieldpaw and chose Smith as the front defence followed by Pelacor Bandit, Merdaali Guardian and Angelic Mandarin at the end position. My strategy here was to protect the Smith with my Guardian where the Repair ability of them both work together to keep a layer of armour always in the Smith and also to heal the smith if he is injured. I also chose the Bandit as my main attacker in this match and the Mandarin for its Silence ability to weaken the enemy magic monsters and the Triage ability to heal my backline monsters if wounded.

As both the lineups got revealed, I found out that my opponent has used the Water Chaos summoner Kelya and in his lineup, he used the Hardy Stonefish as its front defence followed by Cruel Sethropod, Pelacor Bandit, Angelic Mandarin, Merdaali Guardian and Kulu Swimhunter at his end position. Surely he has gone with an attacking stance and now we will see who will win this match.

Fight Begins

As the match began, the all enemy monsters started attacking only my Smith because I used the Lilly summoner and gladly, the Heal + double Repair combo started working pretty well for me. After a certain time, both of my attackers started attacking the Swimhunter because of the equal opportunity ruleset while the enemy monsters were struggling to kill down my smith. After a long ongoing fight, I finally got successful in killing one of the main enemy attackers Swimhunter at round 12 with the help of my Bandit and then one by one I killed down the rest enemy cards as well. No doubt the opponent also played really well here but luckily, I won this match and scored myself a sweet victory.

I hope you enjoyed watching the match and also liked reading my post. Do you also love this amazing rebellion tank monster? Let me know your thoughts and experiences with this monster in the comment section below and I will be seeing you all in my next post.
