One of the more expensive cards I never owned is being highlighted Share Your Battle Challenge. This is the Naga Warrior
I don't own this card but got it leased to me (thanks @stimp1024) just to complete this challenge and get to know it in the process. Cards right now are no longer cheap (who knows how high they will go in value) so i'm saving up at the moment. The 2 main reasons I don't have this one is because it's rather expensive and I don't see all that much use for it. As the main tank, it doesn't have any protection and only 7 health so 5 mana will easily go to waste when using it that way. Game rules where it can attack from any position possibly could make it useful but only if Epic cards are allowed and the total mana cost is in the mid-range. So the way I see it, this one card is really expensive and barely can be used.
I just played many many games trying to find a situation where it was suitable and I just didn't come across any. Instead, I have been having my personal best winning streak reaching the point where I won 50 games in a row. This is when I gave up trying to fit in the Naga Warrion into a match likely at the cost of a loss and I will use my 50th win instead as the battle for this week...
With Game Rules where only monsters with 4 Mana or less can be played and Melee monsters all having the sneak ability, the combination of The Daria Dragonscale and Live Splinter Monsters allowed to play near-maximum mana. The Crystal Werewolf was the only monster below 4 mana as the main tank with enough Health and Thorns ability. 8 health Manticore with Thorns and Reach was an excellent 2nd place monster. The inevitable Defender Of Truth provided all the others with 2 extra Armor while the Light Elemental reduced ranged attack from the opponents. The backline consisted of 2 heavy-weight Ranged Monsters who both got 3 damage.
The match turned out in a near-flawless victory making it 50 in a row not so much because I'm that good but more because the game has an extreme pay-2-win aspect still. Competing for top places in a league means you have a wide collection close the max allowed level giving you an advantage on most opponents. I still hope one day for there to be a pure skill/luck mode in the game but I doubt they will ever do this.

Important: Treat games in the first place as games and not as investment opportunities, Splinterlands allows you to earn some money and get good returns but you are much better off flipping burgers in Mcdonalds when looking at the money earned for the time invested. Investing also comes with a risk of card values going down.
