How it is a new game and how you can be the early bird in this old game? As usual, everyone knows whether it is the Defi ecosystem or the Blockchain game, those who invested first reap the benefits. So how starting in Splinterlands now will be interesting and rewarding for you?
Let's Understand Splinterlands.
Splinterlands is a trading card game featuring monsters. In Splinterlands, players do engage in real-time player vs player battles. When the player click on "battle", the player is matched with another player from the pool of players that want to battle. Based on the outcome of the battle. Based on the outcome winner is rewarded with SPS and points towards Daily Quest and Season chest. (1 win helps you in getting 3 tier rewards).
Being a blockchain game, players have total ownership of the assets purchased by players in the game, and players are free to resell the assets.
How to start.
To start in the game, one needs to buy the Summoner Spellbook in the game which gives the card sets to the player to start in the game. Since this card set gives the phantom cards and very specific level 1 cards, it is good for understanding the basic game mechanics and overall look and feel of the game before someone decides to go deeper and start building a deck that helps in climbing the Leaderboard ranks. (Leaderboard Rank provides additional rewards after the season ends.)
There are so many cards with multiple abilities, so one needs to understand the card abilities and most importantly the creation of the team for battle. A nice tutorial about it is already available on the game website itself.
A Friendly Community.
Best thing about the Splinterlands is the buzzing and friendly community and a good tech support system. If you need to understand more about the game, you can just hop in Discord, shoot your question and you might have a healthy discussion with another fellow Splinterlandian. If you are stuck in some technical issue, you can get help from the Discord tech support channel or raise a ticket there. Team official/professional will help in resolving the issue.
Tactical gaming /skillset still dominates.
One of the best things in the Splinterlands, the skillset is still a dominating factor as compared to the deck value. Creating team for battle formation is a skill combined with rng gods it can give you some unexpected results even when you do not have a top teir deck.
How you can Still be an Early Bird?
You have reached this point and wondering how you can still be an early bird ? The answer to this lies in the game mechanics and division of the leagues based on card sets.
Splinterlands divide the leagues in two i.e Modern and Wild.
Modern leagues include card sets that are currently published and one before it while Wild League permits all card sets.
With Splinterlands Rebellion going to launch on December 5th, all modern league players will be on the same ground for the use of the Rebellion card set in the game. New players might miss the CHAOS cards but there is nothing to worry about because chaos cards can be cheaply obtained by rentals or buying cards and packs in the secondary market.
Splinterlands Land is also now going to release on November 28th after a long wait. This will also introduce a new game mechanics in which both old and new players are going to have the same experience i.e start from zero.
The bear market had affected the splinter lands assets and prices badly but now they are going to be on the path of recovery as already reached 97 cents now against it peg of $1. SPS price is now likely to revive in just a couple of month once DEC reaches and overshoot the peg and I am hopeful it is just a matter of a couple of months now.
So with everything coming new and going to be revived very shortly, it makes you an early bird if you join in the game today.
How to succeed in the Splinterlands.
Once you join the game and start playing, you will automatically start learning by hopping into Discord, reading fellow players posts, posting your experience and battle tips, analyzing your battles by slow-watching them and learning in the process. It is skill skill-based game but it is still easy to pick it up and start playing.
