Splinterlands - Last Stand ability with Efreet Elder

Hi everyone, this is my entry for this weeks Social Media Challenge, if you're a SPLINTERLANDS player yourself, you can check out the splinterlands post how to get in to the challenge yourself.

Today I wanted to talk about a card I almost never see in my Modern Silver League battles: Efreet Elder.

I got this rare fire card from the untamed set as a reward card when I started my splinterlands career in August and September 2021. From that time my deck transformed from a few cards to a high modern league silver deck, but I am still using this card at level 1, and even at that low level, it can really save the day, or rather - save the battle.

1 copy of this card is now trading around $0.45 and for me, the next breakpoint (it's next level that really makes sense to spend money on) is at level 4, when it pick up another magic damage, but it's not worth spending $11 on it while it does it's job for free most of the times.

The strength of this card is it's Last Stand ability, even at level 1.

Last stand will increase all stats of a creature by 1.5X (rounded up) when the creature is the last standing

It's a great ability, and before Riftwatchers came out, it was the only card that has this ability at level 1, now it's joined by the Riftwatcher (but also Fire card) Tinderlock.

All other options are way more expensive, as splinterlands players we all know the very OP LLama/Kron combo.

On low mana battles, you can put it as the only card on the board, or fill it with other low level cards in front of it to eat up some damage.

It excels in the Fog of War ruleset, with sneak, snipe, and opportunity disabled, your intended Last Stand monster is more likely to make it to the end, making it to the front position with full health.

To illustrate, I wanted to share this battle on my alt account, in the double ruleset silent summoners, where the summoners don't add any abilities and brair patch, where all melee monsters take -2 thorns damage.

Both me and my opponent went for a melee tank with shield, to halve the thorns damage it receives after attacking. Looking at my opponents name, it's probably a bot by the way.

when Efreet Elder went to the first position, it was outnumbered by 3 enemy cards, 2 archers that won't be able to fire from the first position, it doubled it's magic damage and won the battle with 7 health points left.

Thank you for reading!!!
