Splinterlands - Battle Mage Secrets: Rise of the Commons!

Do repost and rate:

Good morning everyone and welcome back to my SPLINTERLANDS blog where today I'll be making another post for the Splinterlands Battle Mage Secrets Challenge about the Rise of the Commons ruleset, by taking part of these challenges, you can get a upvote (no guarantees though!) to earn some HBD and HIVE, which I use to buy more Splinterlands assets.

To find out how you can participate in the challenge yourself, you can read the Splinterlands post here.

This is the first post I'm making with some Rebellion experience, last week I was still overwhelmed with all the changes, since then things started to fall on it's place again and I discovered some nice synergies, such as the Iziar / Lookout / Triage combination on Target Practice rulesets, opponents have a really hard time to get trough that and I won most of the matches using this strategy, I stole other strategies from other players such as the Underboss Fabino / Katrelba combination, or a very low mana (12-14) set-up with Obsidian and Moxian Rebel training 2 units without attack for a nice magic damage output.

I've bought 1 BCX of the need to have Rebellion cards but a full set is really expensive so I'm waiting on that one, and saving my blogging earning to buy some more packs too!

We're nearing the end of the season already and tomorrow is the time to open our hard earned packs, the competition is very fierce in Modern League!

Almost a week ago, in the middle of the season, it was easier to win, and my alt account even made it on to the leaderboard to number 7, I was sure this wouldn't stay like that and of course it didn't, last days I've been on a steady decline below 1000 rating, so probably the big players just started fighting late.

The battle for this week I want to share is a 42 mana Modern League, Melee Mayhem / Rise of the Commons battle, with the Fire and Death splinters locked out, with Melee Mayhem I see a lot of Possiblus teams, but a Dragon / Water combo is also nice with Chwala as the tank, and magic is also a possibility so I wanted to protect myself again as much as possible, Immortalis was the best choice in my oppinion, he would shatter the armor of strong melee teams and block magic damage with void.

First look at the battlefield:

Well, all the teams I was expecting to see, this wasn't one of them ?? will I be ok? let's analyze... the star of the other team is Isgald Vorst, but without knowing I put a nice counter to it in the back of my team, and I'm nerfing it's damage with demoralize. A double protect, which will be of little use because of my shatter, the other team is definitely faster than my team, so that could be a problem, after all, speed is so important and a few key misses can decide the outcome of a battle for sure.

My Line-Up:

  • : Immortalis - reason: Multi protection!
  • First position: Mycelic Infantry - reason: Shield and Void on a tank is nice! it's very slow though...
  • Second position: Venari Scout - reason: Opportunity to hunt down glass cannons or healers.
  • Third position: Venari Knifer - reason: Good damage, fast, thorns.
  • Fourth position: Goblin Psychic - reason: Heal, Affliction.
  • Fifth position: Disintegrator - reason: Demoralize
  • Sixth position: Dumacke Orc - reason: Shielded Sneak and Opportunity protection, Retaliate

The Battle:

My slower team needed to wait to be hit first, but last is not least! Dumacke Orc retaliated and shattered Pelacor Bandit's armor, the first tank is already killed and Diemon Shark's armor is gone too, that's a nice start! The Halving ability is very annoying!

My Orc got hit twice but didn't retaliate, that's a bummer... that was the only damage my team took this turn though, and Diemon Shark got killed, looking good!

Retaliate finally procced on Isgald's attack, and it's such a nice synergy with Immortalis because when the retaliate lands, it's bye bye armor, the Bear died too so now Isgald is at the frontline, no way I'm losing this now.

I didn't expect Mycelic Infantry to hit the flying, much faster Pelacor Bandit but he did! And it's over!

That's a nice SPS reward for Silver for this season, getting higher in the ranking means meeting stronger players so less wins.

You can watch the battle unfold for yourself here.

That's it for today! I still need to drain my ranked play energy and hopefully earn 1 or 2 more season chests to get that GF Legendary ??.

I'll see you again on my next post?
