Splinterlands - Battle Mage Secrets: Healed Out

Do repost and rate:

Hi everyone! Welcome back to my weekly SPLINTERLANDS blog, where I will be covering this weeks Battle Mage Secrets challenge about the Healed Out ruleset.

To find out how you can enter the challenge yourself, check out the Splinterlands post here.

The Healed Out ruleset doesn't allow any healing whatsoever on the battlefield.

All healing abilities are removed.

This applies to summoners as well.

Healing abilities include Heal, Tank Heal, and Triage.

For me this ruleset is more like a secondary ruleset, less important than other rulesets it is combined with, it's just something you can't use, of course limiting some strategies which depend on healing but that's all.

For example without healing I won't use my earth team with Grund and Mycellic Slipspawn both being healed by tank heal / triage...

For this weeks highlighted battle I want to share this 36 mana battle with only Water and Dragon splinters allowed to be chosen, it is a No Healing / Fog of War battle, and when I see this I expect a lot of distance attacks because of the fog of war, but what would it be, magic or archers? To nerf both treats I decided to go for Quix the Devious with some Void monsters in my team to nerf both magic AND archery damage, on top of that both the Water team as the Dragon team has a very good well armored tank, Diemon Shark and Djinn Chwala so I decided to bring a Shatter monster in my team also, tucked nicely in the back.

First look at the battlefield:

Well, I was wrong in what tank my opponent was going to use but the end result was the same, a well armored tank, Musa Saline is going to deal with this little piggy very fast and prevent it from living too long and allowing it to do massive damage to my team I think.

Other than that he brought two martyrs, never a bad thing, but less effective with fog of war.

I brought a lot of Void and a Reflection Shield, so hopefully the Chaos Dragon will target the first half of my team, but you'll never know with Scattershot.

My Line-Up:

  • : Quix the Devious - reason: Access to the Dragon team and to nerf archery damage.
  • First position: Baakjira - reason: Meat shield, Void to defend against magic.
  • Second position: Tide Biter - reason: Cheap reach monster with reflection shield against Chwala.
  • Third position: Void Dragon - reason: Fast, Void.
  • Fourth position: Djinn Oshannus - reason: Fast, Void, Phase, great speed.
  • Fifth position: Axe Master - reason: Double Strike good archery damage, nice for enemy OShannus.
  • Sixth position: Musa Saline - reason: Shatter!

Looking at my Line-Up later, it would be even better to switch out Axe Master and Musa Saline, the battle never got to a point where Axe Master got to the front but then Musa would have had a nice HP pool already because of the Scavenge and could protect Axe Master a little while longer to do his thing.

The Battle:

Musa shattered Goblin Mech's armor like it was planned, he's not quite dead yet but getting close. My Tide Biter got the first hit from Chaos Dragon, so my front line is about to be killed too.

The enemy front line is killed, and Baakjira got the second hit from Chaos Dragon, Tide Biter doing his job with Reflection Shield stopping the Blast damage.

The second Martyr card died so Chaos Dragon is at 4 damage now and becoming pretty dangerous (and it is already a very good card with it's base damage. Good thing I anticipated a strong magic team so I brought enough Void.

So yeah, Chaos Dragon is a threat but at this point it is the only threat.

My Tide Biter died, but that's ok, it did it's job, the double Void in the front nerfing the enemy Blast damage, my team getting at work to kill Chaos Dragon.

At the end of round 4 only Naga Assassin is left standing, unable to fire from the first position because it's an archer and unlikely it's going to dodge a lot since it's facing primarily magic opponents so the battle is decided!

Winner! and nice SPS earnings for Silver League.
