Splinterlands - Battle Mage Secrets: Aimless!

Hi SPLINTERLANDS fans, and welcome back to my Splinterlands Blog, where I will be making at least two posts a week about this revolutionary game, earlier today I made my first post for this week, it was for the Social Media Challenge and there I talk about my Rebellion journey so far.

That was the Social Media Challenge, what's left is the Battle Mage Secrets challenge for this week, where this week we are challenged to make a post about a battle with the Aimless ruleset, in which all monsters get the Scattershot ability, basically everything get's a mess this way and when you play a lot of ranged or magic attackers, your chances to win depends on where your attacks will land, so it's all RNG!

So with this ruleset, a few things come to my mind.... for one, the Taunt ability is pretty useless because random fire can still take out your low HP glass cannons, but using the Blast ability is pretty effective because there's a good chance it's going to land in the middle of the other team!

Another thing to keep in mind what was changed a while back: Camouflaged monsters can get hit by Scattershot too!

The battle I want to share for this post is a Wild League Tournament battle I recently participated in, it was a 33 mana, Aimless / Up to Eleven / Stampede battle with only the Fire splinter locked out, with the Amplify ruleset running in to Mylor was a good possibility and I don't own one on this account, only my alt has a 1 BCX copy of it but I wanted to make use of the amplified thorns and I felt nerfing magic damage was more important, so Death it is.

First look at the battlefield:

It's never fun to run in to Quora when you're not expecting her, and I still don't own her myself and I play every brawl we get ??. The rest of the team is trash, so that's something... the double strike Grund will get damaged as hard as it hits itself, let's hope I can do more damage than Quora can heal!

My Line-Up:

  • : Thadius Brood - reason: Nerf magic damage.
  • First position: Cursed Windeku - reason: Thorned tank.
  • Second position: Revealer - reason: Stun can be pretty nice sometimes, 5HP for 4 mana isn't bad either.
  • Third position: Fenmoor Haunt - reason: A nice sneaker from the new Rebellion set.
  • Fourth position: Silent Sha-Vi - reason: Another great sneaker, working together to hunt down magic casters
  • Fifth position: Lira the Dark - reason: Fast archer with Snare.
  • Sixth position: Ravenhood Warden - reason: It's protect ability gives my whole team some cover.

The Battle:

Wow!! almost the entire opposite team died in the first round, Grund didn't liked the amplified thorns very much so it's a great start, but this still is Quora.. and I didn't bring any affliction OR dispel...

Well she's gearing up and once she does.. she's hard to stop! She's going to kill my tank and get even stronger next turn... unless I get lucky and my Stun will land and stop her from doing anything, including the self heal.

YES!!! the stun landed on exactly the right moment, if not, I would have lost because she would out heal the damage I am doing.

You can watch the battle unfold for yourself here.
