Finally, much awaited Rebellion going to be launched on Wednesday, October 18th, at 2:00 PM ET / 18:00 UTC, and looks like both Splinterland's team and players are also excited for Splinterland's team proposal for DAO to hire the team and revenue is shared between team and DAO at 50% and currently voted at 97% approval and likely to pass without any issues. Though the sale will start next week but these cards will be playable on or after December 5th. So we have to wait for more than month to use these cards in action.
Rebellion Set Info.
Rebellion set will have 96 cards but what makes them unique is that they bring a lot of abilities, skills, and tactics that are currently nonexistent in the game. They introduce 4 new abilities in the game but what is most exciting about them is their summoner which has "Multi-Element Summoners & Summoner Tactics". Multi-Element Summoner can be thought similar to the Dragon Summoner, summoning another element in the current scenario but after the Rebellion release they will not be the only one.
Most strongest feature of the Rebellion set is the ability choice of Summoner after the opponent team is revealed and I think this is going to be very decisive in the battle where you can decisions after seeing the opponent team and on top of it you can decide the target option also that how you want your attack to proceed. Unfortunately, if you do not have Rebellion Summoner, you can certainly be at a disadvantage.
DEC and VOUCHER charts.
So it is no surprise that players are buying and accumulating both DEC and Vouchers because the price of the Rebellion pack set is either 5000 DEC or 4000 DEC + 5 Vouchers. So as long as the Vouchers price is below 200 DEC, it will always make sense to use 4000 DEC + 5 Vouchers combo and this already caused Vouchers and DEC prices to jump.
CHAOS and SPS charts.
CHAOS card paks are the worst hit (I guess the same goes for Untamed and other packs) and are now available on Hive Engine at less than $1. SPS chart is not affected by this news as such as it os fine as this announcement is nothing for SPS currently but it definitely impact SPS at a later stage when DEC gets removed from the market and lands in the hands of the DAO and Splinterland's team.
Undercutting Prevention.
The team also reduced the bonus pack percentage and changed the airdrop mechanics that require one to hold onto cards and packs instead of earlier airdrop mechanics where "purchasing" packs from the official shop was enough to be eligible for the airdrop. This helps that team will not be undercut in the secondary market and since one needs to hold cards and pack so I guess it will mainly purchased by players to play instead of hoarding them and flipping them in the secondary market.
More Affordable.
With the Untamed edition rotated out of Modern, CHAOS is available cheaply, and with Rebellion to be released, the modern format going to be more affordable once the Rebellion is added to active gameplay.
My 2 cents.
Overall, Rebellion brings an interesting element of gameplay and definitely increases the interest of the player base, Bots and battle helpers are already banned in the game and the card sets going to be more affordable, I feel many players flocking back to Splinterland's not for Play2Earn aspect but for play for fun aspect also.
