Speculating On The Future Value Of Soulbound Cards

Do repost and rate:

After complaining for a while about how unlucky I've been in pulling some awesome Soulbound cards, it finally looks like I'm back in favour of the Splintergods. Within a month I've been getting some really great cards from both the chests and from Gladius Cases

In this post, I will be focusing on the latest additions to my deck. I'm also going to speculate on the future market price if and when the Souldbound shackles are removed and these cards can be traded.

So, first, let's take a look at a couple of monsters.

I'm not that keen on playing with the Death splinter but of course, I had to take Usut out for a test drive a couple of times.

monster has the dreaded Bloodlust which is usually something associated with the cards. Since I can use Usut with much cheaper summoners, I have found it to be useful in low-mana battles too. Taking out low-health monsters one by one makes Usut grow stronger and stronger until it becomes unstoppable.

So what if the Soulbound chains would come down someday? How much would Usut be priced on the market?

To speculate its possible future price I've chosen Djinn Muirat as a comparison.

- Djinn Muirat in circulation:

Djinn Muirat's current market price is and while their stats look very similar I would value Usut higher because of its abilities, especially because of the Bloodlust

Then again, for those wanting to upgrade, Djinn Muirat will receive Giant KillerMagic ReflectForce Field when maxed out while Usut would then have in addition to its base abilities.

WILL-O-WISP

A strange card I still haven't found many use cases. Will-O-Wisp is an epic Death monster without any attack strength. To compensate for that it has a lot of health(10), speed(4), and two abilities -

To think of it, this card could be excellent in Earthquake battles when it is reducing opponent health while using Flying to stay safe from the quakes.

I was lucky enough to pull a gold foil version of Will-O-Wisp which means a nice amount of collection power(2,500) but also a potentially good future price on the market.

- GF Will-O-Wisps in circulation:

It was extremely hard to find epic GF monsters to compare Will-O-Wisp to because of the high amount of GF Wisps in circulation and also because of the lack of attack. Perhaps a gold foil Onyx Sentinel would be closest even though I doubt the W-O-Ws price will be set nearly as high as Sentinel's

Nevertheless, is Will-O-Wisp in action together with

TERRACEOUS HULK

ability is good to direct opponent attacks to a certain monster and if the monster in particular has , the enemy should have their hands full for a while.

Terraceous Hulk does that and having a strong melee attack, it can do some serious damage while taking some hits.

It's pretty hard to find a monster on the market to which to compare Hulk but I've chosen Uriel The Purifier mainly because they are both tank units with somewhat similar stats.

- Terraceous Hulk in circulation:

- Uriel The Purifier in circulation:

Uriel is priced at so perhaps Terraceous Hulk could fall into that price category.

Above, you see a maxed-out Uriel with the Redemption abilities added to his base abilities. In comparison, Hulk would only get Demoralize but would become much stronger offensively(6 melee attack).

ADA THE UNDAUNTED

This one has become one of my favourite Ada The Undaunted is a strong ranged(3) unit with the Weapons Training ability. This means that the adjacent monster with no attacks will receive half of her attack strength.

Here is a great example in which she is accompanied by the peaceful Clockwork AideThane Newsong. In this battle, you can also watch Terraceous Hulk in action!

What makes it difficult to predict the future price of Ada is the fact that aren't monsters with Weapons Training yet on the market so it's hard to tell how much demand monsters with this ability will have.

So, if we compare purely stats I think the closest legendary monster could be Countess Sinash

- Ada The Undaunted in circulation:

- Countess Sinash in circulation:

Sinash also has very useful abilities - OpportunityCamouflage. Again, hard to compare to Weapons Training but in my opinion, this one goes to Ava because Weapons Training allows so many different combos with even older, "forgotten", cards.

Countess Sinash is currently priced at $1.50 and I'm pretty sure Ava The Undaunted price would eventually set higher than that.

I think it's fun to speculate on the possible market prices of Soulbound cards but to be honest, there are a lot of conditions affecting those. Releasing the shackles could also lower the card prices of the whole market when so much supply is released. Then again, could increase demand in the future.

Moving from the collection power system to staked SPS-based system will surely have an impact on the card prices as well even though good cards will always be in demand for those who play for prizes

Even if the chains would stay on, I'm very happy I've collected a nice collection of Soulbound cards that have been a huge help in my gameplay.
