Solana has just bearly missed running full steam ahead into a gigantic sleeping whale. A collision that in all likeliness would have ended up sinking the Blockchain. And now they look to be the first to break new ground.
What has been said about the new SolanaMobile
They have announced that it will start shipping in early 2023. This makes me believe that this has been in the works for some time. Because products like this tend to be in development for one or two years, even with rapid prototyping.
The price has been said to be around $1000, but it will be interesting to see if they follow this one up with a cheaper and a more expensive model. As in the traditional marketing strategy.
It will feature a Web3 dapp (decentralized app) store, integrated “Solana Pay” to facilitate QR code-based on-chain payments, a mobile wallet adapter and a “seed vault” that will store private keys deep within the recesses of the phone.
The phone is a modified OSOM handset with a specialty crypto wallet function. And the name of the model will be Saga, which in Swedish means fairytale. I guess we just have to wait and see if it is one with a happy ending or not.
