Both rappers appear as their Bored Ape Yacht Club alter ego

American rappers Snoop Dogg and Eminem have debuted their new music video featuring their Bored Ape NFT characters. Visitors of ApeFest in New York were the first to see the music video of From The D 2 The LBC.

While Snoop Dogg has been very vocal in the NFT space, Eminem’s presence has always been more in the background. Nonetheless, both rappers own a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT. Because these NFTs give the holders a commercial license to utilize their NFT for commercial purposes, the two rappers decided to use the Bored Apes in the music video of From The D 2 The LBC.

In the music video the two rappers get high from Snoop’s special cigar, and suddenly they transform into their Bored Ape alter ego. It’s an interesting development that we’ve already seen happening with Seth Green, who’s making a TV series using his Bored Ape. In addition Universal Music is working together with Jimmy McNelis to launch a fictional Bored Ape band called Kingship. NFTs are becoming superstars.

This doesn’t come out of thin air. Bored Ape Yacht Club and their NFTs have become an elite brand in Web3. The fact that all Bored Ape NFT owners have commercial rights over their assets, gives them a powerful tool. Celebrities like Kevin Hart, Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow, , Stephen Curry and Jimmy Fallon have jumped on board of the yacht. Here on DappRadar we’ve compiled a list of celebrities who are active in crypto, DeFi or NFTs.

Check out the Bored Ape’s from the video

Snoop Dogg owns Bored Ape #6723, a cheetah furred ape with a Vietnam helmet and a pimp coat. The NFT was originally owned by Jimmy McNelis, who sold it for an undisclosed amount of Moonpay. They served as the butler service that brought the NFT into the hands of Snoop Dogg, who then stored the NFT in the DeathrowNFT wallet. Yup, Snoop Dogg launched his own NFT music record label.

At the same time Eminem owns Bored Ape #9055. This white furred ape wears an army hat and a golden chain and jacket. This NFT changed hands a couple of times, before it ended up in Eminem’s wallet.

The estimated value always fluctuates based on actual market movements.
