In the long term, Polkadot seems to be a good project, and it might be worth investing into it, like for many other coins: ADA, XTZ, ATOM...
In the short term, the recent increase is mostly due to the presence of DOT on BINANCE homepage: it's good for speculation, but it does not change anything to the fundamentals: if you missed the train, you'd better wait before buying it, since it might dump soon.
