Rollercoin - Season Two - Darkstar - Major update and is it just me or do you feel like you've been stabbed in the back?

Do repost and rate:

And the new season has arrived - what does it have in store for us?

First things first - Feel free to just go to their website directly but if ROLLERCOIN interests you I'd be very happy if you joined up with my referral link:

With the new season also comes a new update - see their blog post detailing it but I'll go through the highlights here:

Darkstar Event

First Glance -

1 - Five Darkstar Miners:

Anti-Phaze (125 THS), Paradox (350 THS), Photon (125 THS), Gravity (500 THS), Singularity (1,000 THS).  Wow, very powerful Miners.

2 - Only 15 levels to get

3 - The basic season pass is free and even on this pass you can get some bonus power, 20 RLT, A Chupacabra miner (14 THS), an El Monstro (110 THS)

4 - The premium rewards include all basic rewards and the season miners, 60 RLT, A Dream Demolisher miner (70THS), A StarGround Miner (210 THS), and some additional bonus power.

That doesn't look bad at all. But there are a few catches:

Firstly - holy cashcow baby look at the price of the event pass.  Screaming up to 199.99 RLT to buy the premium pass and if you want to upgrade to premium with all the rewards at once 799.99 RLT. OUCH - Critical Backstab!

Secondly while it's only 15 levels to get each level now appears to require 140 XP - that is 2,100 for the whole pass, 100 more than the last one.  Thats a nasty backstab!

Experience has also changed and may be different after this week rolls over (in three days).  Apparently they will be changing to a daily task rather than weekly task event quest system.  The referral quest will become optional and the new spend 40RLT quest will also be optional (for the completion bonus xp).  If the experience amounts stay the same as they are today (see the screenshot) then there will be a maximum of 200 xp per week from event quests available just split over seven sets of daily quest.  Watch this space.  Cant judge if we've been stabbed in the back here but it feels like it may be a distinct possibility given the amount of games we may all have to play a week, of games that are harder to complete and more time consuming, to get maximum rewards!

Along with the Event quest overhaul the daily login experience has reduced to 63xp per week as per the screenshot below:

I'd call this a glancing backstab to us all - reducing the free xp and increasing the weekly xp required feels nasty but the total weekly experience (as at the time of writing the post) will be 263 per week so should be doable but time consuming.  In fact to get just the free rewards one only has to get to level 13 which will help (the last free reward is the El Monstro miner).

Well that's the seasonal stuff for the most part - some changes are still to come but overall I feel like a pincushion because it feels like the rewards are getting further out of reach despite managing to get last seasons full rewards.  It feels like new/low accounts are on a real backwards trend with this coming out as they will be smashed by anyone that does get the full season rewards!

Other Update stuff:

Lootboxes

Lootboxes have been added to "gacharize" the game.  I wont go into them too much but if you're flush with RLT go for it, you might get lucky but I wouldn't count on it.  The cheapest box is 10 RLT with a chance to get from three RLT (33.6%) to 500 RLT (0.1%).  Not good odds if you ask me.

The other boxes cost 20 and 50 RLT and have a variety of miners.  Again go for it if you're flush with RLT but the odds aren't good if you ask me!

Game Rebalancing

 - Cooldown changes:

In their words"

The cooldown timer is changed to bring an easier start for players and a curve matching the difficulty. The new Cooldown timer is the following:

Played games 1-20: 30 sec

Played games 20-29: 60 sec

Played games 30-49: 150 sec

Played games 50-80: 250 sec

Played games 79-100: 400 sec

Played games 100-199: 600 sec

Played games 200-299: 1000 sec

Played games 300+: 2500 sec

If I understand this correctly this effects each game individually and should help slow down any botters.  Probably a good thing, judgement to wait till its been operating a while to see how much of an impact it has.

 - No Gaming Power is given for lost games - this is probably good as it should help slow botters as well. On the downside if you mess up you lose your time spent for no gain at all which is a bad thing as the games get more difficult!

 - Dr Hamster has been nerfed by -50% and Crypto Hamster has been boosted by +40%.  Depending on the games required for XP this probably won't make too much difference as mostly people will be trying to do just the quest requirements!

BINANCE COIN

In other major news in the update, BNB has been added.  I really like the BNB coin so this is awesome!  It should hopefully split some of the power around a bit too so might make it easier to compete in the various pools... maybe...

Interface changes

There are a number of interface changes, the biggest being the MARKET page has appeared... in construction though...

Weekly Offers

These have been discontinued temporarily - not a big deal for me as I cant afford them (vs saving for the event pass which I may give up on). This is to make the limited miners more limited till they can figure out how to do these sales again.

And that about sums it all up.

I would have to say, overall, I am not positive about this - while I still believe in RollerCoins potential it feels like they are targeting cash-cows and making it really hard for free/new/low account players.  This isn't all bad but if newer players don't get a realistic chance to earn why would they bother.. If they maybe graduated the event pass (say have a basic, bronze, silver, gold) level of the pass and allow you to buy at say 50, 100 and 200 or some graduated scale like that you might get more people having a go and at least buying the earlier levels (assuming decent rewards for each level).

I'll still play but I won't be funding RollerCoin any more except from some faucets I still use I think.

Let me know your thoughts on it all in the comments.

And that's a wrap - good luck with your Rollercoin journey and if you're interested in SPLINTERLANDS or any of the other programmes I've looked at please join up if you haven't already for fun, excitement and maybe a little Crypto in your pocket!
