Rabbit holes, dying, and bridging to Avalanche in a nutshell.

So really, I was just supposed to get old and die, surrounded by those I love and who supposedly loved me.  Turns out, no one really does that, not anymore at least.

Instead I have gone head first into places that, although for others I am sure is breathing, has been one of the most horrific and wonderful experiences that I have had ...Possibly ever.

There is a slight possibility that I am being a bit dramatic, but I am old and I am a chick so...I don't care.  I have earned that right.

On to Crypto now, specifically the Avalanche network.  It is like a never ending rabbit hole of things to see, places to go and stuff to build.  Think early North America, only online.  That is the only way I can describe it really, that and it is fast.  Avalanche fast.

As mentioned I do not understand yet, nor am I great at understanding the how's of the back end of networks.  Encryption, protocols, standards even, are still over my head in understanding exactly what, and how they work...I just know they do, and for now that is good enough for me.

When bridging from ETH to AVAX  for instance, there is 2 transactions, and involves WETH, which is just  simply wrapped ETH.  So in a super simple form of describing what happens  when bridging from one to the other.  They take  ETH wrap it, to safely take it over to the other side where it gets unwrapped and placed on to the Avalanche network.  It took 9 minutes on the last leg of that bridge for 35 conformations on the ETH side, and I am going to safely say 1-2 seconds once it hit the Avalanche network.  I guess in the grand scheme of things 9 minutes is not a big deal, however Avalanche is geared to building and creating and in turn business and finance, so speed of transactions might be a bit more convenient.

Bridging from ETH to Avalanche takes a bit of time if you lack understanding, but once you do it the understanding comes and I am going to assume gets easier.  It was a painful experience as far as uncertainty goes. We are very small fish in a very big ocean the little I have to manage would be a substantial loss should I screw up.  I have people to answer to, so it was stressful.  That said they have great support teams in place that talked me through and out of the panic of not knowing, which really off set the stress.

I have been ruled by fear though for far too long, and here fear is replaced with knowledge and that is an environment I can deal with.  As least now I am in control of both those parts.  Something that was  stolen from me, and you likely at birth.

So enjoy the ride, as stressful as it is, it is one I highly recommend.
