Exciting Times!
PulseChain Testnet v.2b is up and running, and it includes some pretty interesting ways to earn passive income on both your PLS and your PLSX coins. We’ll cover PLS staking (or delegating) in this first article.
If you sacrificed for PulseChain and/or PulseX, Testnet v.2b also shows PLS and PLSX balances. You’ll see your PLS coins as soon as you switch to the PulseChain Testnet, but you’ll have to add PLSX manually to see those in your METAMASK wallet.
NOTE: If you sacrificed from another wallet like Trust Wallet that doesn’t support the PulseChain Testnet, you can always add Metamask to your browser, enter the seed phrase associated with your Trust Wallet, and your crypto will show up in your Metamask, and now you’ll be able to switch networks to the PulseChain Testnet using Metamask.

The first thing you have to do is get into your Metamask wallet and make sure you’re on the PulseChain Testnet. To do this, click on the “Ethereum Mainnet” dropdown menu at the top of your Metamask wallet and hit the “Add Network” button at the bottom. It will bring up this:
Open a new tab, go to Pulsechain.com, and enter the settings that correspond with the fields Metamask is asking for, or cut/paste these. (I recommend always going to a trusted source instead of cutting/pasting from an article, but you do you.)

Once you’ve added the PulseChain Testnet, if you sacrificed for PulseChain, you should see your balance in your Metamask. If you don’t, please see this Tweet from Richard Heart on how to update the Devs about any missing sacrifice amounts:
OK, so now let’s talk about staking (or delegating) your Pulse coins to a validator to earn rewards, aka passive income. The devs have done an amazing job making this simple and straightforward. Here are the steps:
- Go to the PulseChain staking website here: https://stake.v2b.testnet.pulsechain.com/
- Connect your Metamask Wallet by hitting “Connect Wallet” and following the prompts
- Then, review the validators by clicking on “Validators List” on the left side menu. This will bring up a list of validators that you can review and choose from. I look at important things like the amount of revenue share, whether they’re in rotation, and whether they have felonies or misdemeanors.
- At the bottom of each info section for each validator, you’ll see an icon just to the right of “My Stake.”
- Click on that. It will bring up a pop up that says “Manage Stake”
- Enter the amount of Pulse you want to stake and click “Add”
- After you approve the transaction in Metamask, and the transaction is confirmed on the PulseChain, you can see your stake pending in the “Active Stakes” tab on the left side of the page.
- And now you wait until the next validator rotation for your stake to fully vest. You can find the approximate time of the next validator rotation on the bottom left corner of the page.
- It appears that you can only cancel “fully vested” stakes, so if you make a mistake, it looks like you’ll have to wait until your stake vests in the next rotation, and then cancel it.
Given that Testnet v.2b has only been up for a few days, I haven’t been able to test the “unstake” feature yet, so I will update this after I see how that works.
But that’s all there seems to be to staking your PLS with validators. It’s not much different than it was on Testnet v.2, but since nobody had their PLS sacrifice balances in their wallets, it was a little more of a hassle and not as realistic. With your own sacrifice balances to play with, it’s pretty slick now. Congrats to the Devs for making the interface smooth and easy to use. I’m sure it wasn’t easy to pull that off.
