Pirates 2048 - Post Apocalyptic High-Seas Blockchain Based Game On Polygon

Do repost and rate:

The year is 2048. After suffering the ravages of climate change and a full-blown nuclear holocaust, the world lies and ruins, and you struggle to survive as a pirate on the high seas. As a captain, you engage in ship to ship combat, scavenge the ocean in search of gems, and earn the MATIC cryptocurrency for your efforts. That's the entire premise between the Pirates 2048 blockchain based game on the Matic network.  If you like pirates, blockchain games, or earning crypto, then this is the post for you.

Key Points

Pirates 2048 is a blockchain based game that allows you to earn crypto by destroying opponent's ships. Although I cover a lot of blockchain based games, I have to say that Pirates 2048 stands out for a few reasons.

1. In contrast to many other blockchain games that seem more interested in revising their whitepaper than writing code, Pirates 2048 has an actual, viable, working product that is ready to play. I want to reiterate. The product isn't "coming soon" or "on the horizon". You can actually connect your METAMASK and start playing the game right now. True, the game is in beta, and I'm sure more features will be added in the feature, but shipping an MVP (minimum viable product) is something that many crypto projects take months.... We're still waiting on the "Thunderdome" battle arena on Alien Worlds, aren't we????

2. Pirates 2048 is built on Matic which means transaction fees are MUCH lower than ETH. This makes the game much more accessible to average players. Additionally, the Matic can easily be added as a network on MetaMask which means that anyone with previous ETH exposure can easily play the game without needing a new wallet.

Summary

I do a more detailed analysis and playthrough of Pirates 2048 in my video, but the main takeaway is that even as a beta version game, Pirates 2048 is interesting to play. The gameplay is simplistic but still engaging. I feel that this is perfectly fine considering that 1) the game is still in beta and 2) the game isn't selling itself as a high-def, super detailed game. Rather, Pirates 2048 is designed to be a fun, simple to play but hard to master blockchain game that rewards players with crypto. Although it is still in beta, the game looks to be making good progress towards that end and I wish the team continued success on their mission.

As always, thanks for reading, and nothing is financial advice.
