Whenever I would see Pi Network mentioned on this site one thing, in particular, was always evident. The writer was not happy and for the most part, it was typically people who have been waiting for the Mainnet launch complaining about the time that it was taking for this to come to fruition. Well, now those naysayers have an issue because the plan and steps for the Mainnet launch are finally here!
Unsurprisingly some people have already been clamoring it is a failure and their issue is one that people are going to have to come to grips with. Pi Network has a KYC. While I understand people who have been involved in the space for a long time are taken back by KYC being implemented more and more well I hate to be the one to tell you but they are coming for everything. This isn't to say KYC's are good or that I would encourage them but what it does show me is that there is a growing acceptance with the government, organization, regulators, etc. otherwise they would continue to ignore and not care about the space.
What I do find pretty funny though is that I did my KYC with Pi Network roughly a year ago! This isn't something that they sprung upon users it was something they first dropped and allowed you to sign up the last time I was home in Texas and it has been over 10 months since then! Given this and how Pi Network was not only founded but funded and developed I really think we need to give some serious credit to the developers who have had to both manage their personal and professional lives while developing this on the side! Remember this wasn't a project that was backed by some big wig or received a ton of funding via an ICO or IEO instead it was developed by some people in their spare time!
That all being said ITS TIME FOR THE MAINNET!!! By the end of this month, the Mainnet will go live! I honestly never really thought this would happen and really I am still not sure what the actual value of the Pi I have accumulated will be but ya know it was all free at the end of the day and that is what makes this really really incredible! Now to partake in the migration to Mainnet pioneers need to complete a checklist that is on the home screen of the app! Some of this I have already done as the development has gone on like downloading the Pi Browser App and creating a Pi Wallet. The biggest change is the ability to lock up your Pi for a set amount of time when Mainnet launches to receive a mining boost! The amount and time frame of the lockup can vary but if you really believe in the project you can lock up 100% of your Pi for 3 years and get some crazy boost rewards!
Pi Network has continued to develop no matter the market conditions and that is really really special and not something I would have expected. Again not everything is 100% hashed out but I would recommend checking out your app to see what you need to do to prepare! Again I have to say that it is important to realize and understand this whole project and everything that it has gone through. This is amazing and really a testament to the people in the Network. Not to long ago they had a competition to begin building apps for the project so this continues down the path that amazes me!
