Pi is the first digital currency you can mine on your mobile phone. It is a cryptocurrency project made for every day people. In my opinion Pi is one of the most promising cryptocurrency projects to date. I think it could become a second Bitcoin. Since the last weekend the Pi CoreTeam has updated its Pioneers about the status of mining and hints at a future halving. The Pi app gives the following information:

Well, according to their Facebook account a similar post appeared already on 12th of August with the news that Pi Network had +7M engaged Pioneers. Now, after approximately one month, they are already counting +8M Pioneers. It seems, the Pi Network is growing fast.
