Own a real piece of space with mteora nfts???

Do repost and rate:

Mteora is a hot new NFT collection that allows you to own NFTs that represent real world, fractional ownership of actual meteorites from outer space. On top of that, Mteora claims that its NFTs are guaranteed to be able to stake on R-Planet. This project is just a few days old, and there isn't a lot of info out there, but in this post, I'll try and cover the most important details you need to know as well as a HUGE warning that I don't want you to ignore.

Own A Real Meteorite with NFTs

Mteora is a space-based NFT collection that allows you to own NFT cards that represent fractionalized ownership of a real meteorite from outer space. In my opinion, this is an absolutely mind-blowing use case for NFTs as it allows average, everyday people like me to own a small percentage of something extraordinary. I might not be able to afford to purchase, ship, store, and transport a real meteorite, but I can own a small portion of one thorough a tokenized NFT.

Within Mteora, there are four real meteorites, and a user who is able to collect 100% of the NFTs for that specific meteorite can request physical delivery of actual, physical meteorite. Although I think it will be extremely hard for any single user to accumulate 100% of the NFTs for a single meteorite, I think that the ability to take delivery of the meteorite is incredibly important because it makes the NFTs seem real. Sure, I might not be able to afford to track down and purchase all of the NFTs, but I like knowing that, at least in theory, I could one day trade my NFT collection for a piece of space.

Guaranteed Staking on R-Planet

If that wasn't cool enough, the project claims to be an official partner with R-Planet, and the team promises the NFTs will be able to be staked on R-Planet. As many of you know, I think that R-planet and its staking ability has become the new "Coinbase Pump", and any NFT projects that get listed on R-Planet usually get a lot of increased attention. So, knowing that we will be able to stake the NFTs even before they are actually launched is a HUGE bonus.

Pack Sale

During its upcoming launch, the team will be selling both blue "Super Packs" and black "Mega Packs" of its NFTs. At this point, we don't know the prices, the cards per pack, or really any details, but the team has said that there will be no whitelist, so competition will likely be intense to get some of the packs. In order to keep up to date on the sale, the team says to follow its official Twitter.

??Warnings and Disclaimer??

Although the project sounds absolutely fantastic, I do want to give a few warnings and things to look out for. First, this project is INCREDIBLY new, and their first tweet was made on June 7th, just a few days ago. With that being said, there is very little documentation on the project, and I am trusting what they say on the website to be the truth. I want to be 100% clear that there is a lot of trust being involved with the project, and doing your own research is incredibly important. Here are a few things about the project that I found but could not verify.

1. I looked, but I could find no independent audit to determine if the project does indeed have the physical meteorites. It is entirely possible that they do have the meteorites, but its also possible that they are simply using some stock footage on their YouTube channel.  Does an audit exist? Maybe, but I couldn't find it.

2. The project claims that they will be stakeable on R-Planet, but I haven't been able to find an official announcement from R-Planet that Mteora will be stakeable. Again, this might be true, and it might not, so it comes down to whether or not you trust the project. Will Mteora NFTs be stakeable? It's possible, but I simply couldn't find proof.

I want to be clear that it is absolutely essential for you to do your own research. Although I do like the concept of the project, it is important to keep in mind that the entire value proposition rests on two claims, physical ownership of the meteorites and R-planet staking. If either of t

Summary

In summary, this project sounds great on paper. The ability to own and trade tokenized shares of a real meteorite from space sounds amazing. That being said, the project is very new, and there are a lot of claims that I would like to see independently verified. I'd like to see an independent audit that the team does indeed have the meteorites, and I'd like to see that the R-Planet staking is a sure thing. This is one of those projects that really excites me and I'm really hopeful for, but I'm also a bit hesitant until we get some more verification on some of the claims. As always, I'm not here to tell you what to or what not to invest in, but rather to show you projects that are out there and allow you to make your own decisions.

As always, thanks for reading. Nothing is financial advice, this is NOT an endorsement of any projects, and YOU are responsible for any decisions you make.
