Web 3.0 application-supported internet browser Opera announced on Wednesday, plans to integrate with Polygon (MATIC). According to reports, the integration will go live in the first quarter of 2022. Furthermore, the rollout will initially open up Polygon’s ecosystem to Opera’s over 80 million users on the Android operating system. After that, it will open up to other devices and platforms.

According to Jorgen Arnese, executive vice president of Opera Mobile, the Polygon integration will help eradicate the biggest issues plaguing crypto enthusiasts. These include high gas fees and slow transaction speeds.

The integration will allow Opera users to access Polygon’s decentralized applications (dApps). Some of these include Sushiswap, Aave, and Curve. Furthermore, users will also be able to access a range of blockchain games and non-fungible tokens platforms (NFTs). These include Opensea, Decentraland, and Sandbox.

Polygon’s vice president of growth, Arjun Kalsy, also weighed in on the development with Opera (which also has a built-in crypto wallet). According to Kalsy:

“With this integration, Opera’s hundreds of millions monthly active users will be able to experience Polygon’s thriving dApp ecosystem and best in class Web 3.0 technology.”

Polygon, in recent years, has risen to become integral as an Ethereum scaling solution. This is because the protocol only processes about 15 transactions per second. In fact, since October, multichain, compatible DeFi platforms have experienced a surge in inflows.
