Ok, so I can't decide for some days now, I've got a OK modern silver level deck with level 3 and 4 summoners, Water and Death are my favourite splinters, I've got about $60-70 to put into my deck now, and at first I was certain it would be the new legendary death summoner Astral Entity, dodge with Riftwings backfire and in general playing with the faster cards like Nightmare would be nice plays for when magic isn't available, so, I rented a lvl 2 Astral Entity for 2 days to try it out, but it turns out I wasn't able to use it very often, it skills are good when the rulesets exclude magic, but then still the performance was poor against faster decks like water melee.
It's pretty cool though to see riftwing destroying missing enemy monsters
So, I wanted to look at other summoners, I've got a lvl 2 Rathe delegated to me from my guildy, and it's great, so it would be an option to buy one myself, it'll cost me about $42 since I already own 1 BCX, so I would be able to put in 2 more BCX of Adelade Brightwing to get it at lvl 2 to get the resurrect.
of all the not so great looking riftwatchers summoners Ilthian seems great, looking at it's price compared to the rest a lot of players seems to agree, only Fernheart gets above $3, and Ilthain is just above $5 at current prices. With the new archers only ruleset it's a great counter too when other good options are not availabe but this can also be said for Quix the Devious, that's really the thing with this game right?
