After what has felt like a never-ending cycle of building, designing, and optimizing our features and integrations, it is incredibly exciting to see the vision for NFThub becoming a reality. When considering that the platform, and the goals it aims to acheive have evolved several times, NFThub is nearly 1 year in the making; and is very close to launching our public beta. Unlike so many projects in the cryptosphere, we made a promise to ourselves (and to you, though you didn’t know it) that we would avoid the all-too-familiar approach of marketing a landing page made up of a fundraising method and lofty promises; that instead of FOMO and speculation, we would work diligently to ensure that we have something worth sharing upon our initial release. We’re excited to unveil what we’ve been working on, and are looking forward to the NFT community being an integral part of our path forward. Currently we have a tentative beta release date of 3/1, and we invite you to join our community in Discord to stay up to date on our progress and our plans for the coming months.
WHAT IS NFTHUB?
In very simple terms, NFThub aims to streamline the day-to-day activities of NFT creators and collectors. Our mission is to make things in the NFT space less fragmented and simpler to traverse as this nascent industry continues to grow at a parabolic rate. To accomplish this goal, we’ve spent the past several months growing a network of collaborative partners and a collection of features that we’re confident will be a valuable resource that anyone can utilize, contribute to, and enjoy.
While we could’ve likely deployed a number of the features individually and with far less effort, we feel that by combining a diverse set of tools into one platform, it will be far more beneficial to the NFT community as a whole; as well as to projects and brands that are centered around NFT’s.
FEATURES LIVE FOR BETA
The earliest release of the platform will feature a suite of tools unlike anything that currently exists in the NFT ecosystem. Beta-users will have the oppurtunity to play a vital role in the evolution of the platform by dogfooding the initial release so that we can optimize and further develop based on what the community determines to be of the highest priority. We want to allow a sense of discovery for beta users, so won’t list everything, but some of the features we’re most excited to offer are as follows:
An extensive, blockchain-agnostic public directory of NFT platforms, blockchain powered videogames, and varying sources of new and content surrounding NFT’s and the Metaverse.
Anyone will have the ability to submit their own project’s information (or information for projects they’re following), and easily navigate the existing directory by filtering categories, or by searching for a specific title, keyword, or token ticker. We’ve already populated the directory with over 100 projects we’ve utilized or taken an interest in, and will continue to add to it based on our own experiences and research.
A public community calendar of live events, collection releases, project launches etc. There seems to be nearly universal consensus that it’s very difficult to keep track of dates and times for the near-constant community meetups, streams, ama’s etc., assuming you are even aware of the event to begin with. Event submissions will be open to anyone, and will be added to the calendar immediately after being approved by the team. *event submissions require approval to ensure that the event is relevant and community facing, and that the calendar is not cluttered with spam or irrelevant events. As an added benefit, the calendar feature allows “subscribing” which will automatically sync existing and newly added listings to your Google, iCal, or Outlook calendar to ensure you’re always aware of upcoming events.
[ While we love the artists and other creators in the NFT space, your Nifty Gateway drop (as an example) is about yourself and your fans/followers and as such is not eligible to be listed on the community calendar. ]
HUBswap DEX
Made possible by support from our technical partners at ChangeNOW, we have a built in decentralized exchange interface for token swaps. This may seem like an unnecessary inclusion, since UniSwap, SushiSwap, and a growing number of similar platforms are available, but HUBswap offers one key difference that we feel warrants its integration. Users are able to permissionlessly exchange supported tokens/currencies for a token/currency on a different blockchain. For example: You want to participate in an upcoming collection release on WAX, but don’t want to use your credit/debit card to purchase $WAXP, and prefer not to pay fees for several transactions to sell cryptocurreny you’re hodl’ing through and exchange to then use the funds to buy WAXP token. With HUBswap, you can indicate the amount of WAXP you’d like and recieve it in exchange for the equivalent value of Ethereum, Bitcoin, EOS, or any other token supported by the protocol.
$gNFT
Instead of launching the project with the promise to gradually make it more decentralized; we summoned a DAO and deployed the governance token pre-emptively, which will allow us to reward our community for taking time to explore and beta-test the platform, for contributing to various initiatives, and eventually use $gNFT to issue bounties and sponsor events in the NFT space. Detailed tokenomics are yet to be established, and we’re looking into mapping the token to the Polygon (MATIC) mainnet to eliminate the burden of Ethereum mainnet transaction fees. Assuming we’re able to establish a bridge, we intend to utilize Snapshot for proposals and voting processes, since we’re not aware of any existing DAO framework running on Polygon. Also supported on Matic is a framework through which we would be able to deploy LP incentives by allowing $gNFT liquidity providers to stake their LP tokens in order to earn exclusive NFTs as rewards.
In addition to those described above, we have several other features that are currently live and working as intended; an in-house social network with a couple different useable formats, customizable profiles, the ability to earn a variety of badges for different accomplishments/challenges (which are displayed on your profile as proof of your awesomeness), and some quality-of-life tools built by some of our partners and directly integrated to our platform. During Q2/Q3 we plan to integrate more useful tools and optimize the overall experience as we continue to collaborate with our current and future partners to deliver the best possible experience for our community.
SOME PLANNED/UPCOMING FEATURES
- Native video platform with the ability to request your content to be added
- Collectible NFTs
- An educational sector to learn different aspects of NFT’s (entry-level info, tutorials, technical deep-dives, differences in token standards, etc.)
- “Factions” and faction-based challenges/events (Factions would be similar in concept/function to Hogwarts houses; users could earn or lose ranking for their faction, with rewards for the top ranked faction at the end of each quarter)
- Project showcases in which a selection of projects would be featured, providing insight from their team, an AMA, methods to earn rewards, etc.
