NFT Worlds sees strong demand, pushing the floor price of land NFTs towards 10 ETH, while the team also announced an upcoming avatar NFT collection. These are big developments for a project that has been releasing updates in quick succession over the past few months.

NFT Worlds is one of the fastest developing virtual worlds the metaverse has welcomed to date. Back in October, when the project held its initial mint, the floor price for a land plot revolved around 0.2 ETH. It’s now reached the whopping 10 ETH per NFT. In addition, the team has announced that they will launch a subsequent collection of 15,000 in-game avatar NFTs.

The NFT Worlds team has been remarkably active in December 2021 and the first couple of months of 2022. One of the platform’s most important updates was WRLD token launching in two different airdrops. The native token made a huge splash, as it reached an all-time high of $0.62 on February 19th, following the second and final airdrop

Simultaneously, the valuation of land NFTs for the game was quickly climbing to new heights. The reason? Owning a land plot allows players to earn passive income in WRLD tokens. The rising price of the native token pushed a lot of investors to purchase land to bag WRLD rewards. In turn, pushing the value of NFT Worlds’ land to its current floor of 10 ETH, or around $30,000. In comparison, other major virtual worlds like The Sandbox and Decentraland are barely reaching half of that with floor prices in the 4 ETH region.

Not only that, owning land in the virtual world gives players virtually limitless creative opportunities. Created within the Minecraft ecosystem, the platform allows players to completely customize a plot and create several different experiences. Ranging from racing P2E games, first-person shooters, massive role-playing games, battle royales, and much more. However, players do need a copy of Minecraft Java Edition in order to fully embrace everything NFT Worlds has to offer.

What will NFT Worlds Avatars bring to the table?

NFT Worlds Avatars is a collection of 15,000 NFTs representing in-game, playable characters that can be used to personalize yourself universally throughout all NFT Worlds realms.

Any NFT Worlds Avatar you own in a connected in-game wallet can be equipped at any time. Equipping an avatar will change your in-game appearance to match your avatar. Aside from visual utility, the NFT Worlds team has announced that the genesis Avatar collection will also grant exclusive in-game rewards, including WRLD tokens. However, details regarding these rewards mechanics are still scarce.

The same goes for details regarding the minting process and pricing for the 15,000 genesis Avatar NFT collection. What we know is that the owners of the first 10,000 land NFTs will gain whitelist access to the avatar collection. The remaining 5,000 Avatars will be available for public mint.

Beyond the genesis NFT Worlds Avatars collection, the team will also be launching the NFT Worlds Community Avatars collection. It will allow projects and communities building in the game to bring their PFP characters into the virtual world as fully playable avatars.

Considering the huge rise in popularity of NFT Worlds land, the upcoming avatar collection is expected to follow the same pattern. Additionally, the potential for passive WRLD rewards also boosts interest in the collection.

The floor is lava

Metaverse land has been at the forefront of crypto investments towards the end of 2021. This is especially true for the first months of 2022 as well. According to MetaMetrics, virtual land across all Ethereum-based virtual world platforms has attracted more than 50,000 unique wallet holders.

About ninety percent of owners currently have plots in just a single virtual world. However, adoption is rapidly growing. According to a recent DappRadar The Sandbox Land Valuation Report, NFT Worlds is the third most traded virtual land NFT collection in 2022, with close to 4,000 unique traders. The Sandbox and WorldWideWebb lead the ranking with 6,866 and 5,805 unique traders respectively.

What’s more, many of these virtual worlds platforms are still in their testing phases. This means that the projects have not yet deployed full capability to welcome bigger audiences. Once this happens, virtual land will become an even more prominent aspect of the crypto space.
