In tune with the current theme I will will share highlights of my Splinterlands. I will talk about my key accomplishments so far, what I am currently working on and what is my plan for the future.
Snapshot of My Profile
When I look at my profile summary on the portal I am reminded of the ups and downs in my long SPLINTERLANDS journey that started around mid of 2020 so soon I will be hitting my 4 year milestones.
There were times when I will be fighting more than 100 of battles a week and then there were phases when I will be fed up and stop playing completely for months at stretch.
There will be times when I will be overjoyed after pulling out a legendary gold foil from a reward chest and there will be times when I will be extremely frustrated after pulling out 100s of potions from the chests.
There were times when I will start feeling invincible after a 20 battle winning streak in gold league and then there will be the losing spree in bronze league which will make me question myself if I should stop playing forever.
When I started out I never imagined that Splinterlands will grow so big and not file out like the other blockchain games.
I also did several mistakes like selling out my untamed gold foils cheap. If I had been patient I could have already made life chaining gains. I am still hopeful that in the near future Splinterlands is going to deliver sick gains.
My Card Collection
One important lesson I learnt early in my journey was to have a balanced collection if you want to improve your win rate. Just buying some fancy legendary cards will not account to much.
You need to have levelled up summoners across as many elements as possible. Next will be to identify which cards are more useful for you as per your battle strategies. Then you focus on those cards and level them up to make them more deadly.
Hold onto to those gold foils as long as you can. They are going to be worth more than real gold in the future.
I currently have a power of over 250,000 as per the cards I hold and my plan is to raise this power to 500,000 by end of the year.
It is important to have a powerful card collection as it means you have a good diverse variety of cards. It used to be a pre-requisite to play higher levels in the leagues and the higher power your card has the higher it can produce when used in land.
You would have noticed that Untamed cards have much more power compared to Chaos Rift or Rebellion. If you have a lot of Untamed in your portfolio then hold onto to them. Their value will keep rising. If you don’t have many then getting some when you get a bargain in the market will be a good idea.
Keep Staking the SPS
I did not give much thought to staking SPS and started doing it once it started offering higher battle rewards. Now I have realised it’s a good way to create a consistent stream of passive SPS which you can use to regularly level up your game or transfer out if you want to invest in some other project you like.
I currently have just 12.5 K SPS staked which I would like to increase to 25K by end of the year and eventually reach my 100K the year after.
Land is Where the Future Is!
Now let’s talk about what are my plans for the future. I m personally really bullish on the Land ecosystem of Splinterlands and fee that is where the growth of the game will be centred around for the next couple of years.
This is also much more strategic compared to building a card collection and requires much more planning.
Some people just randomly picked up land plots and now don’t have the patience to work on the maintenance. They are selling out their plots cheap on the market which is offering a good opportunity for the serious players.
The golden rule of land is that more is not always better. You should always try to only hold as much land as you can efficiently manage.
If you have as many Runis as your plots then they will be super efficient. The more Untamed Gold foil legendaries you have the more productive your land will be be. You will need spare DEC to stake with your land.
I am going to advance slowly from my current 3 land plots to a target to 10 by end of the year. In the process I will keep collecting more gold foils whenever I see a bargain.
