My Splinterlands Blog #161 - The Wait For Conflicts

Welcome to another article where I write about my journey playing ! As we arrive at the middle of January, the expectation is that the Rebellion Conflicts update will be arriving soon, which is the mechanism that is going to be used for receiving airdropped legendary cards from this set. It is going to effectively be a competition, where you stake Rebellion cards and packs to earn points for a chance to get a card.

This was the sample UI when the mechanic was announced.

Outside of expectations of a big update, there hasn't been much in the way of updates since my last article. There was a smaller update, with a fix for the Flank ability triggering past the first round, a new Land worksite history screen, and some various bug fixes and minor improvements. Nothing that people were that excited about, but progress in making sure the game is at least more stable.

Since I don't have a lot of game news to talk about, I'll toss up a couple more Rebellion packs that I opened!

These are some very good packs. The first one had a gold foil Summoner as the rare, while the second had two rare cards and an incredibly useful gold foil common card.

Avina of the Wolf and Meriput Magician in gold foil went straight into my gold foil Brawl deck. They are under-leveled for ranked play on my main, but both are extremely useful cards. Meriput Magician is a decently high health healer with good speed, making her a bit more likely to survive. Avina lets you give a unit self healing, or two units +2 speed, both of which are useful in a lot of situations.

Guild Brawl #190, playingBronze League Gold Foil Only. The guild came in third place, keeping up with our solid results.

Vs. CRYPTOVIRU5 of SONG OF THE PHOENIX

Vs. BBGKEVIN of LEGENDARY DRAGON BABIES

Vs. PRAETORUS of LEAGUE OF CHAMPIONS

Guild Brawl #191 playingBronze League Gold Foil Only. This time two brawls happened to finish between articles, and we ended up coming in first place this time around! Which is also why there's so many Gladiator packs at the end.

Vs. MACNAPAT34 of PEAKMONSETRS - FEEDER 7

Vs. NICEBIN01 of DARK CLUSTER

Vs. KOK-GALAPAGO of THE FAMILY - opponent fled

Vs. CHICKN0001 of IMMORTAL BEAVERS

Vs. BOZZ of DARK ASSASSINS

Vs. WARLOCKS of BABY MERCENARIES

I opened three Gladiator packs this time around:

Nothing too wild here, though apparently I hit a run of Fire rare cards. At least I'm slowly working towards leveling some of these up for Ranked play.

I forgot to advance my alternate account out of Silver I before this end of season, so next time I'll be getting a lot of Silver chests (hopefully!). I played a lot of Modern Silver on my alternate account, but only managed to get to Silver II. I managed to make it up to Diamond III in Wild on my main account, completely ignoring Modern league play there.

I did get more Splintershards (SPS) for wins in Modern, but I got a lot more chests from having a higher win rate in Wild. Playing a lot in Modern this season meant I didn't end up with a lot of season chests for my alt.:

One pair of epic cards and a couple of decent Splintershard chests from the Gold League chests on my alt.

My main account got four epic cards and one gold foil common of note. With Diamond League chests, the SPS rewards were noticeably better than Gold.

I haven't made any moves with my remaining land plots. I considered burning some SPS for Dark Energy Crystals, but the price valuation dropped near the end of the season - making it less ideal to do so. I am still continuing to accumulate Grain, Research, and SPS from my plots that are active.

It has been stated that you will need to spend Vouchers on Conflicts. Checking my stash, I've accumulated quite a few since last time I looked at them. Getting that Node License way back when they came out has probably paid for itself by now, with the steady trickle of SPS and Voucher rewards.

My plan for next season is the usual, try to get up to Diamond on my main and where I can advance to Gold on my alternate account. I should probably try to get some more Rebellion cards for the Conflicts, but they've been keeping a decent price. They are also fairly well balanced, except for the promo cards, so I can get along with the cards I have.

Anyhow, that's about it for this week. Thank you for reading, and sorry for all of the pictures! I'll be back next week with any Conflicts news, or lack thereof.
