In my last blogpost (In pursuit of a safe way of investing)I told you about the strategy I'm currently using to create some gains using crypto. But talk if cheap, so I figured I'd give you guys an update on where my assets are at right now, backed by some numbers.
The implementation of the strategy started with the following assets:
- 53887 HOT tokens
- 250 ONT tokens
Both are held on my Bitvavo account. I've stopped using COINBASE and other exchanges entirely, since Bitvavo has really low fees and works fine for me.
Fast-forward to today and my portfolio has changed ever so slightly. I now currently hold:
- 53887 HOT tokens
- 0.0058 BTC
As you can see, I've sold my ONT tokens, after realizing slightly more than a 2X. As I bought in, my 250 ONT tokens cost me 95 euro. I sold them at about 220 euro. I then used that entire amount to purchase BTC.
Where I'm at right now
Since starting at 250 euro, I've seen quite some gains and we're far from done with this bull run in my opinion. So where am I now with my portfolio?
It's important to see that we've essentially been trading (generally) sideways since about 2 weeks. September usually/historically is a bad month for crypto, so I'm not expecting huge gains here, but more or less keep on trading sideways, perhaps even drop a little bit.
Taking Profit
Since I've changed my ONT to BTC, I've changed my general idea a little bit. I will keep my BTC and even purchase more when the time/valuation is right. But I still plan on selling off my HOT tokens and take some profit. Let met show you how I've planned to take my profits. Below you'll see the value HOT needs to reach and the amount of HOT tokens I've got ready to sell on my Bitvavo orderbook:
€0.025: 10 000 HOT
€0.030: 10 000 HOT
€0.035: 30 000 HOT
€0.1: 1887 HOT
€0.2: 1000 HOT
€0.3: 1000 HOT
Do I expect HOT to reach€0.3 during this bull run? Far from it, though it would be nice if it did. I do recognize the fact that HOT still has a lot of growth potential left in this bull run. Let's look at some historical data:
As you can see we're not even halfway towards the last peak (about €0.024). I'm convinced we'll break that and hit€0.025, perhaps even €0.030 or €0.035. The latter being my target for this bull run. I've been very conservative with my first target, simply because hitting €0.025 will result in me getting my entire investment amount back as a profit. Any higher target being hit will result in pure profit. This choice was made entirely as a consequence of my "safe way of investing" strategy.
I will keep you all posted how my portfolio evolves the next weeks/months/years.
