My Monthly Budget - March 2023

Hello again dear readers.

For the past two years I have come to realize the amount of time that I have used the wrong way (I think there's no wasted time).

One day, while I was surfing the internet, I've been surprised by an old man (he looked wise) called Warren Buffet. I was surprised with his story and everything that he conquered/built. His story inspired me to change the way that I was living and made me think about the life that I had been living and the choices that I have made. At the end of the video, there was an interesting sentence from Benjamin Franklin:

"An investment in knowledge pays the best interest

I was a kid that allways had a bond with technology and animes, therefore I was spending too much time playing games like League of Legends and watching Naruto and others. The same day I saw the video, I've decided that I should read more ( I used to read a lot more when I was a kid and I've totally stopped reading for 5 years). I turned off my computer and commited myself to read Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki in order to trace a new route for my life. I didn't care how long it would take me to read it, the main focus was to finish the book. That was my commitment.

Reading books can give us a vast source of knowledge as most of you may already know. Rich Dad Poor Dad had the power to remove the blindfold that "somebody" equipped my eyes with. I've enjoyed reading it so much that I've concluded my goal in less than two weeks. Since I was not an avid reader and an addict to PC's I still consider it was a really good pace.

After this book I've realized that my journey was actually begging from scratch so I've decided to read more books. Can you imagine the subject I was most interested in? Yup, that's right, financial education, supported by:

  • The Intelligent Investor - Benjamin Graham;
  • Secrets of The Millionaire Mind - T. Harv Eker:
  • The Laws of Success - Napoleon Hill.

These books have supported my knowledge and my desire to create a better future for me, my family and of course, my wallet. So, this month I took another step. I've decided to create a monthly budget in order to:

  • Pay the useless personal credit I've requested 3 years ago;
  • Finally have kids with my wife;
  • Start saving for a house;
  • Create a financial budget for my kids for the time they want to go to college or start a business;
  • Control my spendings so I can be punched in the face by the excessive amount of things I spend my money in.

My wife and I earn a total of 1600 euros a month. Here's the budget list that I've created:

  • Credit - 500 euros (200 euros a month plus 300 to pay off debt. I will make a new monthly post to keep you updated about this);
  • Garage - 100 euros;
  • Candle making room - 70 euros;
  • Groceries - 500 euros;
  • Fuel - 100 euros;
  • Internet and mobile phones(2) - 70 euros;
  • Monthly subscriptions - 30 euros;
  • Bank comission - 20 euros;
  • Leftovers - 210 euros (105 for each other. I am a smoker and I invest 50 euros a month in crypto, so my money goes for this.)

What do you think of this budget? Am I spending too much? What would be your allocation? I am totally open to discussion.
