Time to do some promotional work. Or something along those lines at least. As it happens a good friend of mine launched his very first Kickstarter campaign today. And I would love for you to take a look at it, as it might be something you will find interesting, or know someone who would enjoy it. But you do not even know what it is for. Stop rushing me I will get to that part. =)
What is the Kickstarter for?
The campaign is for him to be able to publish a series of four books. They are in the genre of sci fi-western, and if you need examples of things in that genre there is Firefly the much beloved, too-early canceled, tv show. And regarding books, there is the second Mistborn trilogy from Brandon Sanderson. And sure those are two very beloved properties. But how would you know how this stacks up to them, or if it even is something you would like to take a closer look?
Well first of all take a look at the kickstarter page, as it has a lot of information. But it also has the first book readily available for you to download for free. This means you do not have to make any guesses whether you will like his writing or not. But you can just take a look and read it for yourself and make up your own mind.
The Kickstarter is however only for e-books. So no physical books this time. But if it becomes a popular campaign who knows, we might even get some physical books as stretch goal add-ons. And I for one would love that. Mostly because I do not read e-books, having a problem doing that to any greater extent thanks to my dyslexia.
About the author
He does have a lot of previously published work, over 50 titles. So he has been quite prolific with getting stories published. They are however to my knowledge short stories. But the places where he has been published are quite reputable, Analog Fiction & Fact and Nature Futures to mention two of them. And that should at least be an indication of the level of his work.

If it looks like something you would be interested in then please download the free first book in the series and take a closer look. Or if you know anyone you think would find the books interesting please help with spreading the word about the campaign. And if it looks like an interesting project and you like what you read in the first book, then, by all means, please support the project.
