My Crypto Journey – May

Do repost and rate:

When we have done writing about our crypto earnings around May 1st, could we ever imagine the price of most cryptocurrencies would cut into half within a single month?

That was a fun roller coaster ride. I guess I was lucky because I do not spend any fiat money to buy cryptos; therefore, I could just sit back and HODL whatever I have. On the other hand, I was unlucky that I could not buy any dip since I do not spend any fiat money to buy cryptos.

As a newcomer in the crypto world, I have to say that I cherished this experience so that I would know how to live through a crash if I ever decided to put in my hard earn cash.

That being said, please allow me to go back to the topic of this post. My earnings in May of 2021.

Blogging

If there was a good thing came out of the crash, I would definitely say that it has given me more time to blog; otherwise, I would spend most of time playing around DeFi and trading different altcoins.

HIVE

I still try to figure out my best way to work with HIVE. I have been collecting $LEO, $CTP and $POB in the past month. However, just like Publish0x, due to the language barrier, my growth is somewhat subpar.

STEEM

I was surprised how much I have received from STEEM and Nutbox combo. Nutbox provide farming experience from Mining by Delegation with STEEM Power. Farming Nutbox grants $PNUT token, which can be swapped into $TRX; I then sent to KuCoin to exchange into $USDT. May was a crazy month, I don’t have enough fund to buy the dip, so I wanted to keep as much as stablecoins and earn interests from lending.

Unlike PancakeSwap or CubDeFi, there is no need to worry about impermanent loss of my $BNB, or buying any tokens for that matter. Just delegate and earn.

Matters.news

Matters.news has built a microblog platform within Mastodon network, called Liker Social. Unlike noise.cash, which stopped giving users free tips, all thumb up/like inside liker.social platform are free. The main blog site, matters.news and “tweet” site, liker.social shares the same crypto, Likecoin, which makes managing tokens easy.

Only problem is still the need of finding a good exchange, which does not rip US citizen off when exchange Likecoin.

I mentioned that the main exchange, BitAsset, suspended all trade and transfer without any warnings. According to other users, this Taiwanese exchange slowly re-opened their withdraw function, many of my friends could start taking fund out again. But would anybody still trust the platform? I do not think I would.

Earning

  • LikeCoin = 2276
  • HIVE = 51
  • CTP = 16.742
  • LEO = 26.195
  • POB = 19.006
  • STEEM = 474.682
  • TRX = 1542.243

Total = $495

Staking

I do not have much investment here. I don’t buy anything with fiat money, so my resource is limited.

CubDeFi

I don’t know if the market has started bouncing back yet. It seemed all prices drop every Fridays after the crash. But at least things are slowly recovering. $CUB is not one of them. It has dropped before the crash and continue to do so.

No doubt the developers have proven they are reliable and committed. Just look at LeoFinance, and many other products they have done.

Maybe they need to change some of their strategies, gather more users outside HIVE. I mentioned Nutbox earlier. It is on its way to connect to the third environment, Polkadot, as I am writing this post. DeFi is a perfect place to bridge between different blockchains. The more it connects, the bigger user base it would have, and the more exposure it gets.

Total = 48 $CUB

PancakeSwap

To be honest, I haven’t even looked at my PancakeSwap account until today. I did not bother to put too much energy there since it is on Auto compound.

It is a well-known platform. Therefore, I don’t need to talk too much about it.

Total = 6.13 $CAKE

CakeDeFi

CakeDeFi is like a portfolio manager. I put money in, they play with it while charge me a fee. I believe CubLife is doing the same thing.

I am wondering if it will be a mainstream for the users, who do not have to spend their own time to get their hands dirty.

If I can, it would bring more non crypto enthusiastic into the crypto world properly. Not from Elon’s tweets.

Total = 19.77 $DFI

I also use BlockFi, KuCoin lending, etc., which gave me minimal earnings. The BlockFi card without annual fee looks a lot prettier this month though.

There was another Figment learning opportunity and earning $20 $XTZ along the way in May. Here is my post about the learning experience.

I guess it was not bad during the month of May. My crypto stays in the crypto world. It’s not whole lot, but I planned, strategized every bit of them.

Every lesson I learn were enjoyment; I could not wait to learn more in the next month.

How about your crypto journeys? Absolutely hated the crash or bought the dip happily?

Thank you for reading my noob journey in the crypto world.
