The Mutant Pathogen team has recently announced the release of a sinister Non-Fungible Token (NFT) modeled after the deadly Covid-19 disease: the Spike the Mutant Protein NFT.
The team has concluded plans to release the token on the ERC721 blockchain network. The general public can start purchasing the first volume of the rare and unique NFT as soon as it is released for public sale on November 9, 2021.
The mint price for the NFT is set at 0.07ETH and only a limited number of the Spike Protein will be made available on the mint day.
All crypto enthusiasts who collect the NFT can save the world by minting the first volume of the NFT exclusively on the group’s official website. Once the first batch is sold out, its purchasers will receive the airdropped volume two while the public will be privileged to purchase the rest.

The first batch of buyers will receive “the most contagious Spike Proteins that would randomly multiply depending on their rarity,” according to the team.
The team got the inspiration for the project from the Coronavirus pandemic ravaging the world and several other apocalyptic scenarios that have changed the world over the years.
The NFT collection
The NFT collection is designed to serve a purpose: remind people that nothing is permanent and pathogens are yet to sign a peace treaty with human civilization, making it human’s greatest enemy.
Highlighting how much damage such pathogens can do, the team added that “Spike the mutant protein has mutated into 10,000 different variants. A sinister collection that will remind you and future generations of the day the doomsday clock ticked one more minute closer to midnight”.
The plan ahead
As the project’s roadmap shows, investors should expect 5 seasons or volumes of the sinister NFTs. Upon the release of each volume, the ultra-rare NFTs will be airdropped for holders of the first volume. The team also promised “multiple utilities for an interactive trading experience that will keep you guessing what’s next.”
A team consisting of a published microbiologist and long-term crypto enthusiasts created the Spike the Mutant protein NFT collection as a deflationary asset stored on the ERC721 blockchain.
