I continue to move forward with conviction in the Mobile Blockchain NFT Play2Earn Game Mobile MiniGames despite the fact that things don't look great now. I have been stacking up on Exclusive Hero Skins these past months, here is why...
This is a classic saying by Warren Buffet which is easy on paper but hard in reality. Right now, things don't look that great for Mobile MimiGames which I wrote about in my previous report () with PRPS & DUBI trading well below where they are supposed to be and many players who are losing faith capitulating.
Personally, I believe the game is great with the potential to adopt millions of players which will take time and improvements along the way. So I don't mind the current low price of PRPS which provides an opportunity to accumulate at a massive discount.
1 PRPS still counts toward 13$ of purchasing power in the game which means there roughly is a 80% Discount!
The Use Case of Exclusive Skins & The Crypto Land Expansion
Exclusive skins were brought into the game as a way to have more optimal monetization but so far they have had mostly cosmetic value. Not many players know this, but this will change with the upcoming Crypto Land Expansion as exported heroes will be able to earn passive crypton while those that are exported with an exclusive skill will earn a lot more. The passive Crypton generation will also increase on hero skins as time goes by and they become older I believe up to 100k Crypton after 50+ months.
Supply/Demand
Assuming they succeed and the game will be played by over a million active players who are both going to want these skins just for the cosmetics having something relatively rare in the game and for the increased Crypton Generation, the amount in circulation of most right now is rather low. There are 6 Faction (Lul / Pogchamp / Smorc / TriHard / Kappa / Kappa Pride) and each have 5 different hero Classes (Mage / Warrior / Priest / Rogue / Hunter) which means there are in total 30 different Heroes to have exclusive skins. As 1 skin gets released every 2 weeks
So far 22 out of the first 30 hero exclusive skins have been released in the following order:
Unless they somehow change the release schedule it means that for new skins to be released for specific heroes it will take over a year's time and the market will have to do with the ones that are available. Each time one is exported it gets removed from circulation and the ones that want it will need to find a buyer. Many of the skins now are in centralized ownership by whales who are not planning to sell anytime soon. So not only will the fundamental value go up once the Crypto Land is released, rich new players are going to want these older skins for the cosmetics and the achievements attached to them which in theory should drive up the price.
Prices & Cheap Accumulation.
I have been slowly accumulating them for months now and also mentioned it multiple times in previous articles not really wanting to make a full post on them yet as the fewer buyers the cheaper I can do so. These are the current prices along with how many I managed to get from both buying deals mostly with Sale Points and TTTT Vouchers back when it was possible to include them. They are ranked from Old to New, The number on top left is how many are in circulation, the number in the progress bar is how many I currently own.
I have mostly based my buying on the price compared to the circulating supply and how old the skins are and not so much on the actual visuals and animations. Right now you can get 5000 Crypton for around 2.1$ which means that the 'market cap' of skins like the Pogchamp Rogue is just 1400$ and with not that much money you can own a pretty big part of the supply.
I have been keeping track of my own accumulation and the prices I paid which has been going on since the end of June 2022 and I plan to continue as long as prices remain cheap. I only bought 1 Building skin in the auction house which is the first released Campaign Building and I really wanted it just for the visuals it brings to the game while I usually never really care about stuff like that.

Pet & Building Skins
Even though I'm not actively buying them in the Auction House as I believe the demand for Hero Skins will be higher once the Crypto Land Expansion is released, Pet & Building skins are also something I have been accumulating mostly with Sale Points.
I wrote about why I was buying the Furamingo Pets 10 months ago which now go for 55k Crypton each as it was one of the first skins and there are not that many of them in circulation. This now even puts them at a nice profit despite the steep price drop of PRPS and the entire crypto market.
Conclusion
While everyone right now is really greedy jumping on the hype of the pre-sales in Splinterlands, I'm staying away from those and quietly being in a heavy accumulation of Mobile MiniGames assets while the fear of the game never going anywhere is really high and many players are leaving similar to where SPLINTERLANDS was mid-2020 which turned out the be the time to load the truck. Of course there is no guarantee whatsoever but I really like the odds as I see the game having mainstream potential and believe the devs will continue to improve along the way until it achieves that. I do expect it to take some time though and the Crypto Land Expansion only giving things a limited boost at the start. The game is fully Free2Play and I can highly recommend at least downloading it and trying it out by scanning the QR code on your phone
