Mimble Wimble

Mimble Wimble protocol written by Tom Elvis Jedusor may have forever changed the world of cryptocurrencies. Similar to BTC, Mimble Wimble was written pseudo-anonymously to protect the author/s. Mimble Wimble offered new innovations to the now traditional UTXO model such as BTC or LTC. Bitcoin utilizes a public LEDGER for name sake is public and viewable by everyone. From how much BTC someone owns to each transaction they have done. For security reasons public ledgers may become unviable due to large entities like governments and corporations being able to surveil all data without needed permission. Other cryptocurrencies such as Zcash, have implemented ways to have privacy on public blockchains but they have their cons. In order to add privacy to an UTXO model creates unwanted bloat whether through proofs or obfuscation which ultimately slows the blockchain down, bringing up the new issue of scalability. On July 19, 2016 Tom Elvis Jedusor gave us a solution to accomplish a prune-able private blockchain. Privacy and scalability were finally possible natively on the blockchain.
