in this post I will teach you how to migrate and how to swap your $strat tokens to new $strax
If you have an old wallet of Stratis , then you should now that the latest Wallet is Core wallet RC2.2.1
Steps to follow for those with ELECTRUM WALLET :
- (1) Recover private keys in ELECTRUM Wallet. Go to Wallet -> Private Keys -> Export Enter password Save the .CSV file somewhere on your computer where you can find it. Make sure nobody reads/has access to this file because your private keys are on there
- (2) Clean installation of Stratis-QT 2.0.0.5: https://github.com/stratisproject/stratisX/releases/tag/v2.0.0.5 If previously installed, make clean by: Go to %appdata%/Stratis and delete everything except the file called "wallet.dat"
- (3) Add stratis.conf in the %appdata%/Stratis directory. In this conf file add the nodes that you find for /Stratis:2.0.0.5/ on https://chainz.cryptoid.info/strat/#!network Make sure QT-wallet starts to sync with the network
- (4) Import private keys from step-1 Open the CSV files you saved from Electrum earlier. You will see that this contains two colums: address and private key. The private keys is what you need. In Qt, go to Help -> Debug Window -> Console In the terminal window type: importprivkey "private key" and repeat that step for every private key in the files. After you've done all the addresses and Qt is completely synced, you should see all funds in Qt.
- (5) Send recovered funds to a new wallet on Stratis-Core : https://github.com/stratisproject/StratisCore/releases/tag/2.2.1.0
Don't forget that you need to make a new WALLET and you will have new addresses in CORE !!
For QT wallet :
If you didn't update your wallet and you have funds blocked in Stratis QT Wallet with 0 connections , here are the steps to follow to recover them.Thanks to Dev0tion here are the steps that you need to follow :
If you want to get funds out of QT wallet and move them to NEW CORE wallet you need to follow these steps:
- be sure to have the latest version of QT wallet . You can download it from here : https://github.com/stratisproject/stratisX/releases/tag/v2.0.0.5
- Open notepad and add the following :

Save the file under the name : stratis.conf (be sure to be .conf and not .conf.txt)
Then move the file to : %appdata%/Stratis (overwrite it ) .
While you do this , make sure that your wallet is closed. Open the wallet again after you added the file.

Please note that QT and Core can't work in same time . Be sure to open them one by one and not in same time !
Core being a HD wallet, you need to transfer your coins from QT ( is not working to move wallet.dat file from QT to CORE ).
After you have your funds in Core wallet you need to install STRAX wallet 0.9.0

Swap Process
To participate in the Token Swap and acquire the STRAX Token, currently owned STRAT Tokens must be burned. The swap is achieved by creating a special transaction that defines the STRAX address that will be associated with the owner of the sending transaction, this is known as the “Token Swap Transaction”.
A high-level overview of the process can be found below.
Step 1
Download and Install the STRAX Wallet 0.9.0 by using one of the below links relevant to your Operating System.

The installation media is also available as GitHub Release.
Once installed, create a new wallet and generate an address. This will be the wallet that will receive the STRAX Tokens from the Token Swap.
Step 2
Download and Install Stratis Core 2.2.1 by using one of the below links relevant to your Operating System.

The installation media is also available as GitHub Release.
Login to your existing Stratis Core Wallet or create a new wallet that you will send your Stratis Tokens to. Once your wallet has a confirmed balance, you will be able to participate in the Token Swap by completing the necessary the Token Swap fields.
Important Considerations
- The Token Swap functionality is only made possible through the Stratis Core 2.2.1 Wallet. To participate, you must send tokens to the Stratis Core 2.2.1 Wallet and perform the Token Swap transaction.
- Tokens are immediately burned when performing the Token Swap transaction. This is irreversible. Please ensure that the specified STRAX Address is correct and have a safe record of your Secret Words and Passphrase.
- STRAX Tokens will only be available and be distributed after the close of the initial participation window.
When is the STRAX swap window?
First round of the Strax Swap window is from the 15th of October 2020 until the 12th of November 2020 at 9 AM GMT.
To be eligible to receive STRAX Tokens on day one you will require to perform the token swap during this period.
Will there be an additional participation window to complete the swap?
Correct. An additional participation window will exist until the 15th of October 2021 at 5 PM GMT.
Token Swap requests during this period will be subject to a manual validation process.
Will STRAX tokens be burned?
Correct. STRAX Tokens that remain unclaimed will be irreversibly destroyed on the 16th of October 2021.
I have tokens on Cirrus, Do they require to be swapped during the first participation window?
No, the tokens on cirrus can be swapped from Cirrus to STRAX once the STRAX blockchain is live.
When will a Block explorer be available on the STRAX blockchain?
On the 12th of November once the STRAX Mainnet is live.
Once I have swapped, when do I receive my STRAX Tokens?
On the 12th of November once the STRAX Mainnet is live.
Will STRAX have exchange support?
We are in contact with several exchanges. Those who are in support of the Token Swap will make their announcements and define their preferred processes.
What will happen to the name “Stratis” on exchanges?
The name Stratis will stay the same. Only the token ticker will change from STRAT to STRAX.
What happens if there are unclaimed balances after the swap window has passed?
STRAX Tokens that remain unclaimed will be irreversibly destroyed on the 16th of October 2021.

The ‘Raw transaction’ you will see that the exact amount of STRAT is added as the value on the vote of an OP_RETURN script. Look up OP_RETURN burn you will see that it is a legitimate way of making coins unspendable which leads to burning them.
When will STRAX trading markets be live?
This will be announced by the respective Exchanges who support the Token Swap.
Can I still stake STRAT till the last day of he swap first participation windows?
Yes, but you will require to swap from STRAT to STRAX before the 12th of November 2020 at 9 AM GMT to be eligible to receive STRAX from day one.
Why doesn’t my STRAX wallet sync?
The STRAX Mainnet is not operational until the 12th of November 2020.
After I have performed the swap, why haven’t I received my STRAX?
You will receive the STRAX tokens once STRAX Mainnet is operational on the 12th of November.
