I think it's fair to say that Linea is one of the most recognizable zkEVM L2 rollup networks these days, with a lot of buzz revolving around their testnet, projects partnering and building on Linea, and speculations about an upcoming airdrop. Today, Linea announced on Twitter that the mainnet alpha version of the network is rolling out this week - with partner onboarding - to be followed by opening up to the general public next week, according to the latest post on Linea's Mirror account
Consynses (the team behind Linea) defines the platform as "a type 2 zero knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM). A zkEVM replicates the Ethereum environment as a rollup and allows developers to build on it as they would on Ethereum mainnet. Linea allows you to deploy any smart contract, use any tool, and develop as if you're building on Ethereum. For users, this enables the experience and security guarantees of Ethereum, but with lower transaction costs." (Reference: community.consynses.io
So far, about 100 partners and developers have been building and collaborating with Linea.
Linea Voyage on Galxe
Over the last handful of weeks, Linea has been running a fairly extensive batch of quests on Galxe named the Linea Voyage, utilizing the points system on the Galxe platform to reward Linea supporters and testers. Will these (or other testnet) efforts pay out in the form of an airdrop? In regards to a token-specific airdrop, the latest Mirror post does address the fact that Linea utilizes ETH as it's native utility token, and that any current advertisements for a Linea token are scams.
However, the post does let Linea Voyage participants know that there is an NFT series on the way:
Over the past two months, hundreds of thousands of early community members and more than 50 partners joined our Linea Voyage, a collective effort to shape and strengthen Linea ahead of mainnet. We are humbled by the outpouring of support during testnet and have commissioned a set of digital NFT art pieces inspired by their contributions to the network.
This week, METAMASK and Consensys NFT will onboard onto mainnet alongside our partners. When we open the network to users next week, we will use the opportunity to introduce the art as Linea’s first official NFT collection, which we will present to Voyage participants during a livestream on July 18th.

What's Next for Linea?
During the mainnet alpha phase, Linea will still be looking for feedback from developers in the form of bug bounties, and will be offering several opportunities to help developers build on the platform.
