LayerAI will conduct a token swap in the next 2 months, starting this week. This involves the migration of the token's smart contract. This token contract change will happen because LayerAI contract was still the old CryptoGPT contract.
?? IMPORTANT: this only concerns on-chain holders. If you hold $LAI on a centralized exchange, you do not need to do anything. If you are a staker, you do not need to do anything. CEX users and stakers will have their token updated automatically.
On-chain holders will swap the old token for the new token, open for 60 days

Only on-chain users will need to manually change the old token to the new token. They will use a token swap portal in order to receive a new token (the old token will be burned during the swap process).
The exchanges, market intelligence partners and aggregators will adopt the new token contract in the next month. During the token swap period, deposits and withdrawals on some exchanges may be limited.
The liquidity on DEXs will be removed and redeployed for the new token contract during the launch of the token swap.
This is a crucial step for the future of LayerAI - to remove any vulnerabilities associated with the Multichain bridge.
