On August 10, the IOTA (MIOTA) project announced that it would launch the first phase of its protocol upgrade Chrysalis next week. The upgrade brings a host of improvements to the network as IOTA progresses towards IOTA 1.5.
- Chrysalis is an intermediary phase with incremental protocol upgrades
- Will confer performance, usability and reliability improvements
- Specifically, improvements include >1K transactions per second and confirmation times of 10 seconds
- IOTA 1.5 will offer improved developer experience and enterprise integration
- First planned in December 2019 and detailed in February 2020
- Scheduled to launch next week
- Second upgrade will be launched in October
